Tout juste après une excellente sortie sur Krakzh et au milieu d’une année qui l’a vu.e lancer son label Bait et être invité.e sur pléthore de line-ups dans tous les coins de la France, Beatrice rejoint le roster avec quatre morceaux délicieusement vaporeux à la production méticuleuseme, explorant les hybridations hypnotiques entre techno et dubstep, sans pour autant se cantonner au fameux 140 bpm.

Et pour une expérience encore plus méditative, Maquis Son Sistèm vous emmène dans le vortex avec un remix tortueux de 9 minutes d’un des titres.

Hot off the heels of a splendid release on Krakzh and it the midst of a year that saw them take the french underground scene by storm, launching their label Bait and playing in every corner of France, Beatrice joins the roster with 4 deliciously vaporous, meticulously crafted tracks bridging the gap between techno and dubstep, not sticking to the sempiternal 140 bpm and pushing the spectrum in all directions.

And for more bass meditation, Toulouse’s Maquis Son Sistèm will be taking you down the rabbit hole for a 9 minute brain-twisting remix of one of the tunes.

"I'm a Taiwanese-Kiwi producer, sound artist and event curator based in Taichung Taiwan. Much of my music is formed around found sounds, ad hoc percussion, irregular time signatures and atonality manifested in the layering of samples and field recordings.

This debut EP release is a culmination of ideas I have had for over the last 5 years after moving towards producing electronic music as a solo artist. Prior to this I was writing contemporary classical compositions, studying gamelan, playing in a punk and improv bands, and listening to way too much metal. Attempting to amalgamate all these experiences and sound textures is a forever growing process and one of discipline to stick to developing this one project. I feel this release demonstrates what I have gathered thus far.

Sonically, a large part of me is drawn to non-western timbres, rhythm and tonality. It’s not really to consciously infuse my cultural identity into the music but rather an impression left by the cacophonic soundscape of Taiwan which all became very hazy after immigrating to New Zealand. And simply I just think they sound cool. Lots of the percussive sounds in this EP were made through beating on a bunch of pots and pans.

I am really grateful to work with long time friends and amazing artists Mong Tong and 晟 ⏆ SHENG for the remixes in this EP.

We breathe in oxygen, transform it into carbon dioxide and breathe out. One simple witness of transforming matter. With this album I became aware of this inevitable movement and my deeply rooted need to live that. So I could not restrict myself any longer not to surrender to it, to the creative flow.
Very new and important to me was to collaborate with such immensely talented artists. It has elevated and transformed my production skills & process. I feel very honored to connect, learn and transform matter - together.

Different Intel returns with 4 dark and dynamic club tracks by @mercysystem. ‘Dials’ delves into a grittier and more aggressive rendition of his sound, carefully blurring the lines between techno, broken beats and dubstep through innovative production techniques, whilst preserving his distinctive intricate and textured style. Despite the exploration of diverse influences, the release doesn't shy away from the allure of the original dubstep sound, seamlessly integrating its essence to serve its purpose within a club environment. Amidst its pulsating intensity and overall grimness, this excursion remains a poignant tribute to the post-industrial ambiance of Greater Manchester.
