Making their debut on Future Disco, French Electronic trio, Jabberwocky deliver with two summer-ready Nu-Disco weapons.

‘Inner Space’ jumps straight into the action with a dance-inducing bassline that commands the track, paving the way for the colourful sun-soaked instrumentation which gradually progresses, spiralling into a euphoric crescendo. Italo drums and 80s pads bring the retro fun factor whilst never taking away from the track’s fresh feel.

‘Apollo Club’ is also drenched in 80s Italo euphoria with a Funky Town-esque bassline and a contagiously catchy hook which will no doubt send dancefloors into a frenzy.

After two albums released on Polydor/Universal Music, four years of touring, and millions of views on streaming platforms and Youtube, the trio have veered into a more electronic sphere, inspired by sci-fi films, Italo Disco, House music. Their debut release on Future Disco is set to soundtrack summer dancefloors in 2021 and beyond.

Justin Drake and Clive Henry, recognised as the legendary Peace Division, stood out as one of the UK's most successful tribal/tech house production duos from the late 90s to the mid-00s. Their contributions extended to renowned British labels such as NRK and Junior London, as well as releases with Hooj, Crosstown Rebels, and major label remixes.  

Lesser known but equally intriguing was their venture into a different musical realm under the alias, Soul Purpose. Shifting towards a deeper shade of house music, Soul Purpose featured tracks characterised by lush chords and rolling basslines, placing a strong emphasis on the soulful elements.

Originally released on Low Pressing Limited, an offshoot label of Clive Henry and Rocky (X-Press 2) iconic Low Pressing, the four Soul Purpose titles emerged between 1997 and 1998. Despite being somewhat under the radar, these tracks gained recognition among DJs in the know. 

Now, the ‘Selected Works’ release, compiled from the original DAT tapes and fully remastered, reunites the entire Soul Purpose catalogue for the first time in 27 years since their initial release.

<p>Heavily mysterious vibes are coming our way via Mr. Alex Mine, and right off the bat he shows his intentions with the dubbed-out chords of the title track, laced with intense claps and streamlined synths. The gears are pulled back a bit on &#8220;Eclipse&#8221; where a haunting synth riff takes control of the sparse arrangement, and effortlessly leads to &#8220;Entady&#8221; complete with its sticky bassline, crackling drums and cavernous vibe.</p>

'Bushwacka! needs little introduction from me but I will say we are honoured to have one of the most pivotal characters in the UK underground electronic music scene finally make his debut on our label. 

I first heard Matthew play at a party called Whoop Whoop in the early 2000’s, it was a gritty squat party in an old boozer somewhere at the end of the District line, I was asked by a friend to do the lights tat the party, new to London I didn’t actually know anything about the event at the time but I experienced Bushwacka! spinning his magic behind the decks for the first time and realised stood next to him his exceptional ability as a DJ, it led me down long path of discovery of his own releases and his output on his labels… 

We met again in 2006 through a mutual friend who invited Matthew to come play at our full moon cave party for his birthday, this led to a friendship to playing and many crazy moonlit parties under the Ibiza skies together. Bushwaka! - Awakaning

Dutch producer, Toman makes his debut on fresh-faced Berlin label we_r_house this November with four minimal house cuts.

Watergate resident and the creative mind behind the Beste Modus label, Cinthie decided to launch we_r_house with Berlin friends’ and kicked off the label with material from herself and The Willers Brothers late last year and most recently a third release from Revivis. The man behind we_r_house04 and a new partner of the label, Toman shares a parallel vision focussing on minimalistic but complex house music. He’s worked with the likes of Cyclic Records, Inermu and most recently UK label Pathway Traxx before linking up with we_r_house.

‘Broodrooster’ kicks off the EP, offering up a stripped-back, technical micro-house feel balancing exuberant bass stabs with tender flickers of melody. ‘Fever’ follows, an absorbing, lo-fi cut layered with energetic percussion and bouncy undulating elements.

Next, ‘Murmur displays true minimalism, featuring a simple, deep, rolling bass-line whilst flickering drum patterns and tinges of background chimes tucked into the depths of the record. ‘Slapback’ then provides wiggly jabs throughout alongside sleek flutters and an infectious subdued vocal sample to finish the pack.
