the inspo for this track came from a few moments.

I was with friends who'd just come back from berlin. they said a highlight was repeatedly getting lost in berghain and asking each other "haven't we been here before?"

I've been feeling that question a lot lately, but more from a place of sadness. It's made me think about cycles that never seem to break. falling into the same patterns and the same mistakes. wondering why we never learn from our past. 

haven't we been here before?

so that's what I tried to capture in this mix. jeigo’s deep dance grooves pull you into a trance, giving you the feeling of being lost on the dance floor, and fullempty creates a feeling of heartbreak.

story timeeeeeee… a year and a half ago I was heart broken and found comfort in some of the songs you're hearing in this mix (shoutout Rigby On The Run & No Methods).

I was learning how to dj at the time and kept gravitating to breaks, garage and stutter house tracks with an emotional element. I made love_letter (v1) as a way to cope with my feelings but never released it. 

the set you're hearing today has gone through many changes. it's turned into a love letter to myself and an ode to the artists who've inspired my sound as juju_otb.

this gig was a special one for me ~ I got to open for two of my favourite rising artists in the breaks + emotional dance space, Rigby On The Run and how2fly

I made this set capture a blend of that influence ~ it starts with classic breaks, moves you into some dark electro and bass, and ends with trancey dance tunes xx
