Steyoyoke's second release truly shows the label's love for eloquent and surprising house music. The label's second release by their own Dahu comes in strong with an atmospheric EP called 'Deep in the Woods'; two crisply produced tracks likely to arouse the senses. 
Berlin-based Dahu describes his music as 'atmospheric house with delicate melodies and bass-driven sound,' and with this, his first release on Steyoyoke, he certainly stays true to his word.

'Deep In the Woods' is a haunting trail of eerie synth pads and echoing hi-hats culminating subtly into a drop that combines a drooling bass line with infrequent vocal snippets. 
Craftily blending a shuffling percussion with a resonating lead, Dahu creates a hypnotic journey reminiscent of rustling leaves and a walk through a dark wood at night.

The B-side 'Falun' is more upbeat in nature and takes the atmosphere in a new exciting direction but still retains a smokey feel throughout. Introduced with intangible vocal loops and the occasional horn stab, the song sets the mood for a more summery endeavour. In the breakdown a lazy piano arrangement provides the lethargic atmosphere where an echoey horn emerges from beneath.

An exciting and atmospheric EP from Dahu provides a solid second release for Berlin's newest imprint: Steyoyoke Records.

'Deep in the Woods' EP will see two releases, first on vinyl from 16th March and then digitally to follow.

Dj Le Roi has been a favourite and on instant replay at the Noir Music offices for quite some time, so when he sent us this 2 tracker we fell in love right away and even better..... the tracks grew, grew and grew on us.
“I Loved You First” is a solid house groover with inspiration from the good old garage days in the 90s.
Chords and vocals that sounds so good you can almost smell the vinyl release.
“Heartbreaker” is a deeper, spoken word journey with soothing melodies and a more current deephouse sound. Perfect for those warm-up hours or poolside parties.

Nikola Gala delivers a stripped down to “no bull-shit” techy remix of “I Loved You First”.
Nikola has had great success with Rekids, Ibadan and Brise lately with his in your face tech-sound.
Simplicity and a hypnotic groove is usually the best weapon and this remix is a perfect prove.

Kevin Over is another producer we have fallen in love with. His productions are always very special and very well done. On remix duites for “I Loved You First”, Kevin has taken the oldschool house/techno route and made the track work for the late night sessions. Another pearl from Mr. Over indeed.

Clio delivers the only remix of “Hearbreaker” and his sub-heavy sound suits the spoken word perfectly.
The track is now ready for peak-hour and late night sets. Another quality-slap of tech house stompin' extremely well executed by Clio.

The high voltage ‘Electricity’ kicks things off with the sensational voice of Anabel Englund leading the way. The deep, slow grooves ride effortlessly through the track with a breath-taking break down filled with electric bolts and melodic synth keys.

‘Goodnight Moon’ is the second on offer from Lee and Marc and boasts a heavy bass, beautiful synths patterns and infectious groove. The atmosphere in the track is filled with layers of intricate percussions and luscious melodies, while the interesting vocals make this really stand out from the rest.

Over on the B-side Lee takes the reins with ‘Could Be’, effortlessly swarming the mind with soaring synths, soft R n’B style vocals and lo-slung driving bass lines, while the trippy keys are destined to hypnotize you on the dancefloor.

Rounding off ‘B5 the Dinks’ is aimed straight at the dancefloor. Packed full of groove with an intoxicating bassline, the high-pitched warbling keys, vocals and crowd noises add a new dimension and make this a real party track. (Maouris)

Laura Jones has had a breakthrough 2012. Fulfilling touring dreams and winning the hearts of the global scene with her sensual melodic house and seductive, driving DJ sets, it may come as a surprise that ‘Let Me In’ is Laura’s first, albeit highly anticipated, solo EP. Dropping on Visionquest, ‘Let Me In’ develops Laura’s signature sound, painting a fuller picture of the artist through deeper techno shades, live vocals and trademark hypnotic style.

Title track ‘Let Me In’ could be Laura’s most beautiful and textured yet. A first foray into vocals (a feature bound to build and develop over time) the whispery undulating layers of “Let Me In” weave in and out of shimmering synth waves and ghostly melodic chimes while the ‘Dub Rework’ delves deeper and darker with a tight and punchy groove.

On the flip, ‘Lose Myself’ is another emotive builder, the spacious, raw groove filled with dubby textures and tingly FX giving way to lush pads that float through the echoing vox as drama builds with a melodic bounce to work the floor. Final track ‘Every Thought’ kicks off with reverberating rubbery bass and shakers, while a gothic-esque framework develops with evolving synth lines and filtered bleeps.

A protégé under the Visionquest banner and nurtured under the wings of Leftroom, Laura Jones exploded into the public consciousness in 2011 with her deep and intrinsically melodic vision of house. Her ‘Live A Little’ track was included on the ‘Visionquest Spring Club Collection’ sampler, and her breakthrough single ‘Love In Me’ stormed the Beatport chart and held the no.1 spot for several consecutive weeks – the second time courtesy of stellar remixes from Maceo Plex, Kate Simko and Eats Everything. Later came a joint EP on Crosstown Rebels and an immaculate mix for the Leftroom presents…series. Now with this timeless 4- tracker on the mighty Visionquest, the diminutive producer is destined for an even bigger 2013.
