Markus Suckut has become one of Figure's key artists over the last few years. His early work on Figure SPC stood out as some of the young artist's strongest productions around, while his debut full length LP, 'DNA' released on Figure this May, saw a maturing producer proudly sticking to his talents. Those talents clearly lie in deadly, reduced basement techno, sub heavy, rough around the edges, yet highly accurate for the dancefloor. 
 
This meeting of minds then, is somewhat of a perfect match. Len Faki's renowned high-end production and impressive back-catalogue provide the rock-solid foundations for the 'Skulls' EP. Over 4 tracks and 2 pieces of vinyl, the pair go deep into their influences and come up with an advanced, designed and suitably seismic sound. 
 
From the reduced and spaced cuts like 'Skulls 1' & 'Skulls 3', the pair offer contrasting textures and rolling percussion amidst a remarkably weighty bass-end. Fizzing hats and tripping technobleeps then complement a snaking, tribalist vibe in 'Skulls 2' which also comes with a straight-up Dub version.

Never Regret

As Figure begins to move into the next chapter of its label history, label founder Len Faki has teamed up with young French talent Roman Poncet for the 54th release. Poncet's debut on the label dropped last year with the excellent 'Cerate' cutting a clear path for his precisely executed modern techno sound. 

Teaming up in the studio, Faki and Poncet have crafted 'Asua' - a mesmerising display of production skill and a testament to the duo's true understanding of hypnosis. Pushing from the start with its urgent bassline the track builds and morphs its intertwining elements, introducing subtle textures and suggestions of melody - a classic Figure late night ritual. 

Alongside, we have original tracks from both Len Faki and Roman themselves. Faki's thunderous and aptly titled 'Stripped' works his powerhouse percussion along with a textured dub-stab in this straight up club trip. 

Finally with 'Truck' Roman Poncet completes the EP, his rough synth stabs and metallic percussion driving this moody tension builder ever forward.

Continuing his prolific run of new material for the label, Johannes Heil continues to push forward with his 'Transitions' series, here collecting four more unique tracks for Volume 2.

Opening with the serene calm and Krautrock influenced 'Transition Five', a five minute piece that opens up a rich synth landscape full of space and texture, we then move onto the first of the EP's two full-spectrum Techno trips. Hotly tipped for the Summer as an essential Festival and Open Air 'moment, the powerful and optimistic energy behind 'Transition Six' is hard to ignore. That combined with Heil's extremely well sculpted and high-end production, the scene is set for madness to ensue… 

On the flip side we visit more paranoid zones with 'Transition Seven'. Building from a minimalistic stuttering rhythm, a soaring Sci-Fi soundtrack of strings and intricate synth patterns lift the tension, while dramatic sound effects crash and shimmer across the spectrum. 

This then prepares us for 'Transition Eight', in which we find Johannes working his refined club-sound into yet further directions and angles. At once hypnotising and dominating in its driving bass register and captivating arrangement, a highly charged minimalist club tool for 2014 awaits!

﻿﻿Featuring three more raw versions based on original tracks from 2000 & One, French Fries and Rødhåd, DJ Edits Volume 4 arrives just in time for the festive season. Precision edited, endorsed and club-tested by Len Faki, the package offers yet another chance to delve into the record bag of the Figure label head.

2000 & One's 'Ethics' is a classic from the 90s that Len has been playing for years. Just the right time for a fresh rework for today's high-fidelity sound systems, this rolling powerhouse opens up with a crunching percussion array before the original's playful melody surfaces and the funk is laid on thick!

The jacking, positively charged 'Journey to Kepler' by French Fries is reworked here by Len into a storming Detroit inspired monster. Constantly building, evolving and mutating, it's a track that never fails to deliver a pure rush of emotions and endorphins every time.

Berlin mainstay Rødhåd's 'Mines Of Mines' gets the full on late night treatment from Len in this tense, broken beat reworking. From subtle layered bleeps and pads forms an extremely dense field of sound. The arrival of a low-deep kick drum formation creates the perfect transition track in this stand-out moment of hypnosis.

Title track Vision is on the prowl, baring its gnarly teeth only for flashes at a time. Even more menacing seems Out of Balance‘ a haunting tempest forming and ready to break loose at any moment.

Kangding Ray surprises on the flip, his tribal stomping remix drawing a whirling vortex, breaking into realms of celestial and colorful trance. Unthoughtful reveals de Witte‘s emotive side, the cinematic stepper perfectly closing out her first release for Figure.
