LIVE COMPOSITION FOR ÉCLUSE ON BURATINAS

Around the summer solstice I spent 10 days in Ittre, making a composition for and with the incredible acoustics of the almost 14m high lock. This remarkable piece of Bruxelles-Charleroi canal architecture served as the decor for a sonic intervention. Two pairs of cone-shaped speakers were mounted on the deck of Buratinas to make a sound piece sur mesure, playing with the reflections of the architecture and the water.

In this track you can hear a mix of the sounds of the performance eventually being swallowed by the overwhelming overtone drones of the engines of the lock pumps.

In the summer of 2015 I went on a solo bike trip from my house in Brussels to the house of a friend in Feuchtwangen. BRU - FEU, not by airplane, but by bike...

Every place where I slept, I recorded some noise, trains, water, brushing, birds, church bells, speech, mobile phone (typing), crickets, rustling wood, cars, clocks, trams, roll-down shutters and etc. 

The soundscape is a rush of sounds and noise, against the rush of our daily-life. It's great the silence I met on this trip, along the Rhine- and Taube-banks, hills and mountains, industries, boats and human beings. Thanks for listening.

He used 2 pianos with 2 hands to explore a microtonal tuning.
For this track he Only used 2 strings of 1 piano.

Montreal-relocated Swedish songstress Erika Angell and Montreal guitarist
Simon Angell (Patrick Watson Band), Thus:Owls emerge from two of the most
prolific and cutting edge corners of the world to create a sound both novel and
captivating.

Their sophomore album "Harbours" was recorded in the French countryside, in a
castle on the banks of La Seine. When it was released in Sweden last October,
the press used words such as "ingenious" and "masterpiece" to describe it.
