I know there are musicians who believe controversial issues are out of bounds, but I’m someone who believes confronting those issues is one of the primary goals of the arts, &, historically, music has significantly contributed to social change for the better! #StevenVellou

Over the years, Julian Assange & The Wikileaks has seen numerous band members come and ago, for obvious reasons, Richard Nixon, Pol Pot & Margaret Thatcher got there marching orders; well you can’t have your band members getting up to those tricks during their spare time. Of late, the likes of Donald Trump, Rudi Giuliani and Marjorie Taylor Green have been badgering me about joining, but you have to draw the line somewhere! Ok, Putin, I said, I’ll think about it, and to Kim Jong Un, I said, ok you’re in but no way are you doing vocals! I’m telling you, it ain’t easy keeping a band of nihilistic, narcissistic, machiavelian, tyrannical, hotheads together; not enough that each want to rule the world, they all want to front the band too!

I DON'T THINK MY TUNES QUITE MATCH HIS, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN THEY COULDN'T GET CLOSE IF GIVEN THE STUDIO TREATMENT, AND IF I HAD ACCESS TO SOME OF THE GREATEST MUSICIANS AND ENGINEERS, AS HE HAS.

I DON'T HAVE HIS CHARISMA, AND I'M CERTAINLY NOT AS ACCOMPLISHED ON INSTRUMENTS AS HE IS, BUT I THINK MY APPROACH TO CREATING TUNES IS POSSIBLY MORE ECLECTIC THAN, AND, ALTHOUGH I THINK HIS LYRICS ARE INGENIOUS, I THINK I HAVE THE EDGE ON HIM BECAUSE THEY HAVE MEANING, AND MAKE MORE SENSE THAN MOST OF HIS, WHICH ARE MORE ABOUT A PLAY ON WORDS THAN MAKING SOCIAL COMMENTS!

Thing with many of these tunes is, the vocals get more intriguing as tune progresses, so they have to be heard from beginning to end :)
