Adagio for Our Times (Remix VIII 3 December 2023)

This is a variation of a sort on a musical fragment which appears in the theme music for the TV series 'All Creatures great and Small' and also in the first movement of my Tripartite Fantasy and is constructed as a free flowing set of improvisations on a simple basic idea This simple idea is treated in a linear polyphonic way resulting in a texture which moves between consonant and dissonant harmony ending on a C major chord.
This is an updated revision of the original track using different samples.

Dr M Sort Of A TV Theme (Revised 5 December 2023)

Modelled on a movement of the Danish composer Carl Neilsen's  4th Symphony this short piece unfolds in a series of terse dramatic interludes.

This song has a metaphor I've used once before. in the track Autumn in the Wind. In that song we are "Standing waves to winds of harm... In this song we are too "... standing waves"
I love the idea of us being standing waves to poisonous mind sets. So, a standing wave is a sound wave that cancels another wave out because of the relevant symmetry between themselves and the surroundings and we get silence instead of the two sounds. So when using it now I'm empowering us as the standing waves to hate, as hate is all created on our heads just like love is...

I just listened to a very interesting piece on the radio about emotional intelligence. Since becoming a parent I've obviously thought a lot about this and generally consider myself to be that. Parenting is the single biggest thing that has challenged my EI in my adult life although seeing how my kids act a mirror of me is very enlightening indeed...

However I wasn't emotionally intelligent the day I deleted this upload...

Not so long ago when I was flying off the handle trying to make sense of politics in art and very disillusioned by whats going on... Remnant60 called me out on that and how I maybe project against just one side sometimes... I flew off the handle before we even had a chance to talk... Slapped him with some words, Unfollowed him and deleted our collab... What a muppet I was...

I've been waiting for the opportunity to make it right and make it better...

The song musically hasn't changed from how it was when I last had it up but I added a poem to mark that negative turned positive...

My outlook on life has changed a little and I have Remnant60 and a few other straight talking and silent SoundClouders to thank for that...

You know our problems only get fixed when we are emotionally intelligent towards one another ... even if our truths clash... As artist Sound23 advertises so wonderfully with his birds (https://soundcloud.com/sound23-941370948/dream-of-better-times-in-2023?si=d02356731cea4d7bbd391293880bdeeb&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing)... We need to fly both directions at the same time from a middle ground and accept each other for how we are and what we are. Once thats not hurting anyone else then acceptance is the key I suppose...

The expert on the radio said we learn our emotional intelligence from viewing other people and in turn honing our empathy. Well Remnant gave me an ickle upgrade that day...

It's worrying how the young generation replaces watching people with screens though... They're all going to be weirdos unless that changes..

I suppose, it's ok to be wrong if you're prepared to be right again about it when the light actually shines on any subject. Don't be afraid to admit your wrong. Be proud of whatever you've discovered even if you need to hold your hands up and say. My bad 🙌🏽

SoundCloud gets a pass. This can be my connection to the wireless MATRIX we all live in. Well I'm unplugged... I'll leave that one last strand people don't seem to fear. Music

At some point in my life I pledge to change my artist name to The Beautiful Light

But I'll only do that when Earth and humans starts living by it and there's a journey together for the greater good. I've wanted to change it and I've come close a few times but my art needs to reflect our reality so I'll stay TBD for now.

Thanks for all the genuine connections we enjoy but I'm a parent and a great one and there's no way I want my kids to experience this fake controlled world of misinformation. I'm going to change that first before they plug themselves in when they are older

Time to add a book to my repertoire!

Movie time after that! Or as good American people love to hear Irish people call them. I'm going to make a good Film about it all. That's what a good chunk of my family are amazing at so... Time to re access those genes for myself. I'll try and do all my research in a thing called a library which we luckily have loads of in Ireland unlike Palestine 🇵🇸
