Minimal Sets

Introducing the longest Karma Podcast episode at this moment. 2,5 hrs of dark minimal by Ukrainian producer and DJ - @Melihron. The episode is made of bit and groove, minimal techno, deep atmospheres of drone ambient, large amount of experimental sound designs and field recordings (records of environments). The mix is creating the feeling of listening to the whole pulsed organic structure, which brings the listener to some kind of trance and hypnosys.

"Это танцевальная форма гипнотической музыки для погружения слушателя-танцора в особое состояние сознания, в котором активный танец сосуществует с активным мысленным процессом, связанным с постоянной попыткой мозга декодировать послание, навеянное контекстом используемых семплов, обрывков фраз. Состояние, когда восприятие не может зафиксировать своё внимание на постоянно меняющихся паттернах одного и того же.

Появлению материала для данного подкаста я обязан многочисленным новым и старым друзьям из тусовки минимал-техно именно данного темного ответвления. Со многими я познакомился в этом году благодаря социальным сетям. Также в подкасте есть трэки со сборников VA в, которых мне посчастливилось выпустить свои работы. Об авторе:

Melihron - электронный артист, саунд продюсер и диджей из Украины, проживающий в Одессе. Пишет музыку и играет live в жанрах dark miminal, minimal house, abstract minimal, experimental drone ambient. 

Выпускался на лейблах at [flat], Utro records, Implimind, Solido, microativ hub, Control Room Label. Участник дуэта Sugubo (@sugubo), техно группы Plavni в которой экспериментирует с более тяжелыми проявлениями techno, idm. 

Melihron с особым трепетом относится к коллекционированию музыки своих друзей и коллег по цеху. Часто источником вдохновения служит погружение в другие направления электронной музыки такие как techno, electro, acid, breakbit, bass, garage, dubstep.

We continue our series with a mix hosted by Vermeil & Leo Leyzerowitz from Paris, France. One of the marvelous things about music is connecting minds. Therefore we invited two artists to create something unique. In addition, we're pleased to see the familiar faces back on the label.

For the next 2 hours the artists give you a taste of their amalgamated sound. It contains dark textures, subtle drums and vibrating basslines transporting in various ambiances. Enjoy.

Over the past two decades, Luna Ludmila (Utrecht, NL) has been developing her sound as a DJ and producer. She carefully combines house, techno, breaks, and rhythmic tribal tools to make the dancefloor move and tell a musical story simultaneously. With recent gigs at De School, Breakfast Club, VBX, Awakenings, and her own curated club night at Basis twice a year, Luna has been playing all around her country and abroad. Playing for people is one of her favorite things to do, but she spends most of her time in her studio. With a fascination for layering sounds and experimenting with complex rhythms, she released her music on labels like SoHaSo, Irenic, Berg Audio, and Stately. One of her upcoming highlights will be the debut of her first live set later this year.

Rhadoo is one of the most important figures in Romanian minimal scene, as well as the underground scene. His DJ and production skills knows no boundaries. The label’s reputation grew rapidly worldwide and is now a solid platform for artists and music connoisseurs.

Daniel Cubillos, A.K.A Eraseland, stands out as one of the most influential DJs/producers from the "Eje Cafetero" (Colombia) in the realm of Minimal genre. His DJ journey dates back to 2008 when he began showing interest in diving into the world of music production, culminating in the release of his first official track in 2016. 

His creations have been recognized and have found a place in prominent labels of the Minimal movement globally, including Arupa, Fratii.ro, Dub Musik, Not Your Type, PUR Records, and Fixed Composite, to name just a few. 

Additionally, he is the founder of the record label Nada Espacial. His talent is evidenced by the presence of his productions in sets and playlists of world-renowned DJs such as Ben Hoo, tINI, Milos Pesovic, and Odette, among others. He is characterized by being a staunch advocate of pure, dense, and dark minimal sound. His creations and sets are always distinguished by being filled with raw, fragmented, and abstract sounds, yet always framed by impeccable rhythm.

Claudio Zomparelli, aka CL-ljud took his first steps as a DJ in 1993. He began playing clubs in his home province of Latina, Italy in 1996. In 2001, after honing his skills in the Italian DJ circuit, Claudio decided to travel to London seeking to gain experience outside of his home town and find his true sound as an artist. In anticipation of our next event at Shelter with Margaret Dygas, we would like to share with you a little nostalgia inducing souvenir from our previous event with Ricardo Villalobos. Our very own Reiss had the challenging task of setting the mood during the opening hours of night that so many were looking forward to. Slowly building up the vibe and tension in the room, while anticipation for the appearance of our guest of honour was gradually progressing towards its apex. Brother in beats Ferro upped the levels during his set and when Ricardo finally appeared in the booth, the energy in the room was electrifying before the man even played his first record. The rest is history.
