Here comes the recording from my 4am to 8am set at the first 'Abenteuer' rave, a project which I wanted to start for a very long time. Forgive me for not living up to my mixing standards on a few occasions, it was a looong day and also those before were filled without breaks with all the organizing :) 

I'm really happy how the first 'Abenteuer' party went, even though we had to change the location and had all the hassle that came with that. Thanks a lot to all the people that made this night possible and to everybody that took part in it! Sadly I also lost some amazing decoration stuff because we had to move.. But that's how it goes sometimes and next time will for sure be easier. You can already mark the 17th September in your calendar if you wanna join the next one. See you soon ⛅

What a lovely ending for a long summer filled with so different impressions and adventures. Besides many other lovely souls I got to know such a sweet crew of people from Cologne who instantaneously made me feel like I'm home. I made friends with five of them on their own before I later met them all together and figured out they're all from the same circle of friends. Seems like it fits. Thank you guys for the amazing time and welcoming me as one of yours! 🥰
To play my set from 1 to 3:15 in the night at such a sweet stage, called the Phoenix Nest, with fire jugglers on the side and with all those new made friends dancing was the cherry on top.
Now autumn is coming and I'm filled with gratitude for everything that was this last months and am looking forward to some more quiet times for integrating all that happened. 🍂

2 Fragen an Julian: 

In welcher Stimmung & mit welchen Gedanken hast du den Traumcast aufgenommen?

-> Mein Traumcast hat sich mit der Zeit um einen Abschnitt herumgebastelt der seit letztem Herbst in den meisten meiner Sets gelandet ist. Auch andere Teile standen schon länger, die letzten Schliffe bekam er dann aber erst vor ein paar Tagen. Eigentlich stecke ich am liebsten nur die neusten Tracks in einen Podcast, aber hierbei wollte ich mal eine Ausnahme machen.
Beim zusammenpacken kamen mir immer wieder Gefühle meiner letzten Gigs in den Sinn, besonders von dem vor zwei Wochen in Palästina. Obwohl ich dort kaum Tracks aus dem Traumcast gespielt hatte, war die Stimmung sehr ähnlich, und so sind die beiden nun für mich eng miteinander verwoben.

Wo lädst du am liebsten deinen persönlichen Akku auf?

-> Meistens lade ich meinen Akku mit einem Tag ganz für mich alleine, ohne jegliche Pläne oder Erwartungen und einer großen Portion Natur. Häufig wird das dann ein gemütliches Abenteuer an menschenleeren Seen und Wäldern gefolgt von einer ausgedehnten Kochaktion zuhause. 
Seit letztem Jahr hat sich aber etwas in mir gewandelt, und ich bemerke gerne auch mal einen vollen Akku nach Momenten in wohligen Menschenmassen, in Umgebungen in denen ich mich zuhause fühle, wie auf einem Festival oder im Club. Wenn ich selbst ein Set spiele, beobachte ich danach immer öfter eine besonders tiefe Ausgeglichenheit und befreiende Bedürfnislosigkeit in mir.

I was so much looking forward to play a set again after a break of half a year, so I had prepared quite a bit. The night before the rave though, I stumbled upon more than a few new tracks that I’d love to play as well, which made me cancel all that I had planned, because what I had prepared didn’t make sense anymore. I decided that I'll just pick the first three tracks and go back to my usual of only spontaneously playing what feels right in the moment. 

During my set I realized how this is just such a universal principle. We can’t truly plan ahead and going step by step or one track after another, not thinking too far into the future, brings the best results, the most authentic ones. I lately practiced this a lot in my day to day and regained a lot of trust into this process of life. I feel like it has a lot to do with giving up to try to control, to have an illusion of feeling safe. What we easily lose with this though is a lot of presence and ultimately to see the joy of letting things enfold how they want to in this exact moment. And what else is life in the end? 

I hope you enjoy my late night/early morning set as much as I did playing it and watching it unfold.

Willkommen zum ersten Kapitel meines Abenteuers! 
Ich freue mich sehr, euch zu dieser neuen Reise begrüßen zu dürfen. Wie alles beginnt sie im Ursprung, der Geburtsstätte - Janitra.
Dieser Mix fand seinen Ursprung vor zwei Monaten, in den Morgenstunden auf einem Open Air in Leipzig. Der Anfang gefiel mir so gut, dass ich mich dazu entschied, darauf aufbauend, etwas für Soundcloud zu basteln. Einige Zeit, einige alte und neue Tracks später bin ich nun endlich fertig, und zufrieden mit dem Ergebnis. Viel Spaß beim anhören und nachreisen!

Today exactly one month ago I had the pleasure to play at Bilbao BBK Live. My set was from 1 am to 3 am, Friday to Saturday night, at a stage called Lasai. The festival was in the mountains right next to Bilbao and from Lasai you had a beautiful view over a big part of the city, what created an amazing scene to play for. Everybody had to play at maximum 100 BPM at this stage. Since I hadn't done this in a while, at least not for a whole set, this was a good opportunity to once again get out of the ordinary and do something new. I'm really happy with the whole journey and thankful to have been given this opportunity to learn and grow and get to know so many beautiful people during my time in Spain!

My journey this year brought me once again to medicine music. And because I got so much heartwarming feedback for my first mixtape in this style "Immer Irgendwann #4 by Julian Falk", which now reached nearly 30k clicks, I put together another story to guide you through these cold and dark winter days.

Thanks to Lafede for inspiring me to choose "Follow The Light" as the title. For me it tells what we probably all should do, especially in these days.

Recently I was doing a little retreat in the Black Forest to regain my energy and creativity after writing my bachelor thesis. In that week I took some time to listen through all the music I bought this year and put them into lists for possible mixtapes. Out of one of these lists this summertime mixtape arose. I present to you "सून Sūna: Summer Bloom". Music for days at the lake and adventures in the thicket.

I’m very happy to present you half of the set that I played at @tarmac-festival 2020 on Saturday the 5th September from 8am to 10am. Sadly I didn’t record the whole session but I was able to reconstruct the first hour. It includes some tracks that I’ve been playing up and down at nearly every gig this summer.

Later that weekend, on Sunday evening, I had the opportunity to spontaneously play the closing of the same stage with my good friend @nepo_muk, which makes me full of bliss looking back to this lovely place. The stage was called „Parzelle“, which stands for a part of a Kleingartenanlage, a Schrebergarten, meaning a small private garden in a park full of those gardens in the city, a typical thing in Germany. And it looked exactly like the typical bourgeois version of that.

Tarmac Festival took place for the very first time this year and despite the hurdles of this summer they managed to do it amazingly good. It is suited on an old military airfield which brought a breeze of Fusion feelings with it that blew a bit of this summers dust away. I’m expecting great things for the years to come!
