JuJu Muzik Show (Point Blank Radio DAB) 6th Oct 2023

Some killa' tunes on todays show on Point Blank DAB, old and new. Old like new. New like old. Who knows about this cover? When I was still a young youth at school (Spencer Park, Battersea / Wandsworth), my mum worked at this "rather posh" house on Stormont Road off of Lavender Hill (Battersea SW11) and one day I met her there (I was around 14 / 15 years old, around 1988) and whoever lived there had a big collection of records. When I browsed through them, I found Todd Terry "A Day In The Life" and Baby Ford "Oochy Koochy". The Baby Ford 12" was one sided, and on the the blank side it had a load of writing sketched into the vinyl, covering the whole side of the vinyl, spiraling round from the outside to the in. I can't remember what it said, but when I held it, spinning the record as I read along, it felt like something very unique and special. I would imagine now that, that Baby Ford "Oochy Koochy" one sided 12" vinyl would be worth a small fortune nowadays, at least to a serious collector, anyway (and certainly to me)

Manny'z Medicine Show #40 April 27th, 2024'

Daniel Osthues, DJ & creator of the radio show Addicted-2-Bass discovered his passion for rough Detroit Techno/Electro at the age of 14.

From that moment on, intense digging sessions in nearby Underground Record shops became a weekly ritual.

The passion for new music while at the same time watching his favourite DJs spin records with incredible skill soon led to the goal to be in the same position one day.

Gaining the necessary skillset over the years, he soon found himself spinning at DJ contests and being invited to local Underground music stations as a guest DJ.

Drawing upon an expansive record collection, his sets nowadays span from classic early 90’s Cybotron informed Electro to some rare gems from the hard-hitting Berlin, Detroit & The Hague scene.

Besides having played at Golzheim, Düsseldorf, and Open Source Radio (NL) Daniel is a co-founder of District.
