Thank you to the artists and labels (and PR companies) for this incredible music which I have gathered this year.

I had a such a blast putting these tracks together for five hours straight, last night. Just me and the music in a dimmed light setting. So much music gets sent to my email and too much of it gets overlooked due to it not being the usual House style that I normally play on my radio shows. I felt the need to bring these tunes to the forefront for a change and I kept getting overwhelmed throughout this mix at how good all this music is. The majority of it, I hardly know very well at all (I know some of it), and it was so refreshing hearing these tracks played in full for the first time. I could have carried on for another five hours but I had to respect my neighbours. I've always loved these styles but I have a new found love for it. If I could have my way, I would play this music on a beach all day long, somewhere hot, where the sun shines all day. LOVE IT

It was initially established to showcase how faces and places in Michigan have played a role in influencing Brian's music. ‘Timeless Times’, is a masterful blend of classic house rhythms with the distinct edge of Detroit techno. Through this ambitious 19-track collection, Kage weaves a sonic tapestry through emotional landscapes, marked by ambient, and personal nostalgic vignettes that evoke a sense of timeless musical exploration. Although this is his first solo album, he was not alone on this sonic adventure. You will hear exciting collaborations between Kage and Mr. V, Milton Jackson, Jon Dixon, OB Ignitt, Luke Hess, Taho, Mesha Monique, RBJ, plus more surprises. ‘Timeless Times’ is not just an album, it's an auditory experience that encapsulates the very spirit of Detroit's electronic music scene and the beautiful state of Michigan.

Based in Valencia, Loudeast Records has been putting out quality house business to serious dancefloors since 2006. Founded by seasoned DJ and producer Nacho Marco, the label has played host to KiNK, C-Rock, Duckbeats, Terry Lee Brown Jnr, The Timewriter, Mateo & Matos, Midi Drop Music, Fred Everything and Kiko Navarro himself.  For their next release, Loudeast proudly presents Meloglen, the Mallorcan/ LA duo which is comprised of producer Melchor Rossell who has released on 20:20 Vision, Robsoul, Suara, Liebe & Detail and of vocalist Aqeel, who has worked with the mighty Dr Dre, Mala Rodriguez and Chacho Brodas. Their sound draws heavily on the influences of the legendary Detroit Grand Pubahs, the sultry touch of Moodymann, and the funked-up-ness of Parliaments’ George Clinton.
 
‘Elegant Art’ kicks off in minimal fashion with brooding bassline, and vibey as fuck vocal from Aqeel that dances around with the sparsely placed horns and intermittent effects. On ‘For Hire (Nacho Marco Remix)’, the vocal flow and moody swagger of Aqeel is dialled up to the maximum alongside emotion filled piano house keys. The floor focused ‘Attitude’ picks up the pace and is all about the spoken word (Is Prince in the house?). The original version of ‘For Hire’ is a bumpin’ house beauty that also gets a dubbed out instrumental from label head Nacho Marco who adds elements of crunch to funk up the proceedings.
