After having a fantastic 2014, ANNA is back for her first single release on Tronic of 2015. 'Abre Los Ojos' is a jacking housy techno track that includes a juicy analog melody/bassline with plenty of lfo and filter action. As usual for her tracks, crowd reactions are guaranteed! Furthermore, Tronics head honcho Christian Smith delivers a strong remix focusing on the groove and an anthemic break that is reminiscent of Kevin Saundersons earlier E-Damcer releases. The Italian based Giorgio Rusconi makes his debut on Gregor Tresher’s Break New Soil imprint, serving up two peak-time techno blockbusters. Rusconi - who has made a name for himself with previous releases on labels such as Amazing Records, Audio Elite and Diva Records is known for his uncompromising, cutting edge Techno sound. 

‘Kepler’ is no exception to that approach. A tough groove, backed by an enormous bass drum marches forward, while the looped melody patterns keep the energy flowing. The well-structured break downs and crisp hats will provide maximum impact on a proper dancefloor near you. 

‘Cosmic Vision’ takes us on an excursion into deep space. The sleek slow burner morphs tripped-out, effect filled pads with funk-driven percussion sounds. Going full throttle midway, after a mysterious voice starts leading the way.

Such is the volume of quality music Adam Beyer receives throughout the course of the year, releasing all of it would be impossible. Enter the blue chip A-Sides series: a chance for the quality-obsessive label head to issue a collection of outstanding tracks that couldn't fit in their regular EP release schedule. 

With an eye on future talent, as much as the label's established roster of heavy-hitters, the compilation showcases the full breadth of Drumcode's multifaceted techno sound, equal parts inspiring and functional. 

Led by the stealth techno funk of 'Nine of You', Beyer's deft collaboration with Mark Reeve, the compilation takes in exciting highlights from big guns such as Alan Fitzpatrick, Dustin Zahn, Bart Skils, Pleasurekraft, Luca Agnelli, Jay Lumen, Kaiserdisco and Gary Beck. 

The rich vein of form displayed by emerging techno talent is similarly given prime position. Rising DJ/producer Boxia makes his Drumcode debut, fresh from a well-received warm up set for the crew at the hugely successful Junction 2 festival in London, while the likes of Enrico Sangiuliano, Juan Sanchez, Ian O'Donovan and Timmo also drop fire, establishing their credentials as some of the most promising talent breaking through the ranks in 2016. 

Reinforcing the global scope of the label, artists such as The Junkies from Toronto and Layton Giordani from New York, prove techno is winning a place in the heart of the new generation of artists coming out of North America.

We welcome Drunken Kong for their third single on Tronic. The Tokyo duo have gone from strength to strength in the past year drawing support from Carl Cox to Adam Beyer and more. With releases on Tronic, Terminal M, and remixes of high profile artists in the pipeline it is safe to say that 2017 will be the year of the Drunken Kong! This EP has 3 tracks of their signature groovy techno sound.

Hamburg based Mathias Hatting aka Hatzler doles out a slice of heavy hitting Techno in his Another Life EP, joined by Citizen Kain & Kiko as well as Bulgarian Tech House champ Metodi Hristov.

Collider kicks in with stomping bass and a high energy lead. Instilling an overall dark and dungeon like ambiance, glitched out synth pads dominate the melody, which booms and shuffles before settling on a single rhythm.

Citizen Kain & Kiko team up on the rework, bringing some French flair into the mix. Initiating proceedings is a highly strung, pulsating bassline that buzzes along, dotted with acidical noises and dissolving hi-hats.

Title track Another Life rings in via an undulating synth line, setting in motion a highly mesmerising array of rolling elements that conjure distant, cavernous frequencies. True to its name, the overall setting of the track evokes otherworldly soundscapes as the groove seems to orbit around alien-reminiscing dubs.

On the remix, Metodi Hristov slows down the pace, but keeps up the winding getalong. Metallic synths riff off towards a highly anticipated peak point, following a wavy path streamlined with erratic, ear-piercing synth bites.

All in all, an unhinged four-tracker where the artists’ experimentation makes it great for late-night antics.
