For this episode we invited the fresh RAW signee STEYA - originally from Antwerpen and since the past 5 years based in Berlin. She delivers the rough sound of Germany's capital, not coming short on groovy and detroitesque tracks. Her first release, which can be found on RAW's `Third Eye´ compilation, came out earlier this month and sets the foundation for many more releases to come in the next months and years. The DifferentSound Podcast #299 welcomes Jon Hussey! Jon Hussey is one of the true pioneers of the Irish Techno scene and has now been playing for three decades since the inception of his Planet Dub night at Dublin's legendary Columbia Mills club. This mix is a recording of a recent set Jon played for Basement Project’s night in Cuba, Galway as part of a special event celebrating his years of playing Techno! It's a real showcase of his style, weaving tracks from past, present and future spanning his deep knowledge of Techno grooves, while always embedding blueprint tracks from the history vaults in his sets, threading his underground roots and connecting some of today’s classier Techno productions.  Lock in for the journey spanning through deeper atmospheric Techno, Electro, Acid and heavy percussive Techno workouts. Jon Hussey has previously released productions with fellow great Techno DJ friend Sunil Sharpe as part of a joint project under the moniker 'Tricaustic' with “the Caustophobic Pressure EP” on Komisch, further tracks on RLSD Records, Earwiggle, Ceili tracks, Deliquent Delivery, Circuit Structure Records and most recently on Netherlands based label R3volution Records with a track on Viktims Vol.1 various artist EP. On the DJing front Jon has played in many Techno havens throughout these years including Amsterdam, London, Bratislava, Berlin, Leeds, Turin, New York and more.

crafting sonic landscapes, Luca's artistic endeavours lie in the exploration of
hypnotic Techno and Ambient music.
In the heart of his creative journey, R/D/V shares recent releases on labels such as
[R]3volution, Analog Solutions and Devotion, alongside diverse performances for,
among others, Tresor, Résilience and Acquario.
Luca’s dedication extends beyond the confines of his own projects, as he currently
engineers at various studios and venues and contributes to conceptual initiatives in
pursuit of new sonic frontiers.

Born in Australia and raised in Southeast Asia, Zanias has been a purveyor of emotional catharsis since 2011 when she found her voice in the band Linea Aspera while living in London. Since moving to Berlin she has collaborated with artists such as Sid Lamar of Schwefelgelb (in the project Keluar), Dax J, Ancient Methods, I Hate Models and IV Horsemen, and co-founded the body music imprint Fleisch Records for which she is currently the sole custodian. Through her vocals, productions and DJ sets she aims to draw together influences from EBM, darkwave, italo and techno with a common thread of expressive and melodic resonance, exploring the chemistries that lie between darkness and euphoria. In early 2020 she released two solo EPs and in September will unveil the long awaited second album from Linea Aspera. Her second full-length solo LP is currently nearing completion.

Born in Hamburg and based in Berlin since 2011, Viscerale has a classical background in piano and found her passion to select the music for the right moment since she was young. She discovered the dancefloor in her late teens, but it took her many years to find her true passion as a DJ.
Her first electronical mixtapes appeared around 2015, which led to requests to perform and officially started DJing in clubs in October 2017. She played in several countries including the US, was holding a residency at Ved Siden Af in Copenhagen, and is a regular in Berlin Club´s like Säule (Berghain), About Blank, OHM or Griessmühle.
Driven by strong emotions and moved by fast, hypnotic & disturbing sounds, her sets
are influenced by melodic, dark, rhythmic and Industrial Techno and can transform into early 90’s Gabber and Hard Trance. 140 bpm upwards is her comfort zone, always seeking high energy levels in a playful way.

Julian Mesa is a house and techno artist from Brooklyn, NYC - now based in Bahrain. Inspired by some of the more artistic names in underground dance, he draws influence from the likes of Juliet Fox, Ellen Allien, Fabio Florido, Jon Hester, Keith Carnal, Alex Baciu, and Satoshi Tomiie to name but a few.

Growing up stateside in the ‘90s, Julian was exposed to a wave of what is now considered to be some of the most important records in electronic music history - a rich musical background that he has carried with him along the way to refining and perfecting his craft.

Ever-growing in intercontinental prominence, Julian has already graced many club spaces across North and South America as well as Asia. Some of his most notable experiences include CDV (Berlin), Rave The Planet formerly known as Love Parade (Berlin), UNUM Festival Pre-Party (Bahrain), Epizode Festival Pre-Party (Bahrain), Solymar Beach Festival (Bahrain), Pacha (NYC), Heart (Miami), Drais (Las Vegas), Heard From (Colombia), Tokyo and, Qingdao. Julian’s impressive performance resume has seen him support some of the biggest names in the business, including Richie Hawtin, Juliet Fox, D-Unity, Lehar, Timmo, Blond:ish, Oostil, Massano, Brian Cid, Terry Francis, Joeski, Dyed Sondorom, John Tejada, D’Julz, Shonky, Anthea, Matt Tolfrey, Chus & Ceballos, Dan Ghenacia, and many more.

Julian has seen his work released on Phobiq (Italy) which was featured on Beatport Top 10 Releases for Techno (peak time/driving), Hypnostate (Bulgaria) Featured on Beatport Top 100 overall Releases for Techno (peak time/driving), Fervence Records (Sweden) and upcoming release on Juliet Fox imprint Tregambe - garnering the support of artists like Juliet Fox, Timmo, D-Unity, Marco Faraone, Spektre, Umek, Raffa FL, Agent Orange, Blu9, Juli Aristy, Nick Fiorucci, and many others.

With a host of exciting releases in the pipeline as well as shows around the globe and performing visits to many new destinations (with his newly formed OFF Global Group promotional brand), the future is looking filled with continued growth and exposure for Julian, as he looks to take his global presence to the next level and beyond.
