don’t know a thing about the world, it keeps changing
I watched you bring a little peace to my pond

now everything we’ll ever do seems ancient
but I am still unlearning all that I’ve learned

the winter freeze, it calls our lease
our fallacies
they squeeze us out of conversations

we felt so free when we crossed a sea
far from family
the ballast rocks of generations
