Once again, we were blown away with Harry’s grasp of producing a multitude of different electronic styles. The record launches with the melancholy-tinged Deep House/Garage crossover ‘Easy Tiger’ and its familiar vocal sample.

Honeydrips 004: Astral Harvest 2018

Prolific producer, DJ and head honcho to 3 labels; we’re delighted to welcome the multi-talented @malingenie to our mix series. 

Malin Genie’s style oscillates between the spectrums of house and techno, often using his self-titled label Malin Genie Music (MGM) to showcase more personal takes on the genres. In this hour-long offering for us, we’re treated to two premieres off such a personal take - his forthcoming album ‘Anthropomorphic Sympathy’, out on MGM in the summer. 

‘Anthropomorphic Sympathy’ sets out to reflect on the attribution of human characteristics to artificial intelligence, humanoid robotic laws and the frontier between natural and artificial persons. This influence of artificiality is present within the mix - so buckle in for a tech-infused sound excursion.

Closing set at Organik Festival 2019 in Hualien, Taiwan. Last 1,5 hours was a b2b with Diskonnected. 

Picture this: A slow steep drive down through a narrow jungle path, 
the sound of distant ocean waves, frogs, and insects is all you hear until suddenly the jungle opens up and you've arrived at Organik Festival.

Located on a secluded beach on the Taiwan east coast facing the seemingly infinite Pacific with awesome mountain rocks and jungle kneeling to it. A beast of a brand new model Funktion One sound system tuned to perfection and a rare gathering of the most loving and kind people you can imagine. 

This is the spirit of Organik. Nature, quality, peace, and a big coherent mix of dreamy techno, ambient, experimental, house, and disco. Personally have I never experienced a better festival. Was such a pleasure and honour to close the festival on a late Sunday night playing after Dorisburg. I got around different styles and wanted to play a non linear set and instead take people on a journey. I hope you feel some of the festival vibe in the recording.

The last hour and a half my friend and Smoke Machine Taiwan resident joined me in a b2b showing a rare housy side of his palette.

My Recorder was totally distorted in the beginning and I honestly thought the recording did not work but the limiter kicked in after 20 minutes so  here is my set from 20 minutes in, opening Room 1. "My weekly trips to the Yoyaku store and the releases of my Deep Moments records with Yoyaku's distribution branch inspired this little summer mix.

After playing House and Techno for 30 years or so, I am always hungry for discovering new styles and movements and Sebastien Belguise at the Yoyaku store is a great help for this!

It's so much fun meeting music lovers such as my many friends in the various Parisian record stores, whether that's Syncrophone, Techno Import, Betino’s, Superfly or Heartbeat - all of them have their individual identity and it is true music lovers running them.

Benjamin Belaga really gave me the freedom to experiment with my Deep Moments label. Both this mix and the label are feelings and emotions I get while being exposed to Yoyaku's universe and how i translate them within and through my own culture.

I hope you will like the mix!
