It’s getting harder and harder to bemoan Kasra’s Critical imprint of most anything. This latest mere 25 minute mix from his label signing, Emperor is a real case in point. Being so short there’s very little let up but the fact is it’s probably rammed full of a ton of new productions and it’s got a very evident meticulous nature to it. Emperor doesn’t try and cloud the product with ideas above its station, the mix’s rowdy, almost call and response like nature surmises the way a <em>whole</em> bunch of people play out, constantly pushing the crowd on and on into more of a fever. And consequently, as a teaser for the next Critical Sound night, it’s the perfect thing to epitomize the type of energy and devotion their crowd provides.

We're excited to present Delta Heavy's first release of 2014! Ben & Si have been hard at work on their next level new material. Concentrated lockdown business: the explosive fruits of this dedication are set to be unleashed throughout the year. The 'Apollo' EP is the first of such harvests... 

'Apollo' has recently enjoyed 'intro tune' status for many of Andy C's sets. A startling, heart-stopping agenda-setter, every single element tingles with heavyweight production electricity. We ignite with emotive synths, subtle snake-like percussion and a riff so stimulating it could motivate the dead. Deep throat bass shots tease before the drop, then BOOM: when the full bassline and tungsten-tipped drums kick in, there is no avoiding the prize-fighting level of power. Immaculately massive. 

Next up: 'The World Is Yours'. As the title implies, there's an overwhelming sense of uplift coded into every twist and turn. A contemporary roller rich in textures and melodic subtleties, positivity seeps from every ingredient as we wriggle and writhe to the multiple layers of thick basses and lush, spine-melting synth flourishes. 

Finally, as a digital exclusive, we have 'Badboy Style'. Rudeness abounds as Si and Ben fuse some of the most distinctive genre-setting rave sounds with a bashy contemporary riddim. Comparisons to The Prodigy should never be handed out lightly, but in this case it applies; savage, solid and sizzling with dancefloor heritage, this sings to every raver from every era. 'Badboy Style'... It's in the name!

2014 stands as a defining moment for the RAM Records imprint. Not only did it announce the pivotal signing of artists like Audio, Teddy Killerz and Bensley but they also oversaw the birth of compilation series RAMLife hosted by Loadstar. Even in its first form, it contained nearly every essential release the last twelve months had to offer. 

But this year, RAMLife is taking you into deeper and murkier dimensions. Having already flexed his production muscle on the ricocheting, four-track ‘Nil by Mouth’ EP, as well as his first visual debut in the music video for ‘Heads Up’, it’s now time for Audio to cut open and expose his musical psyche. 

Including some of the most aggressive, technically adept and prominent artists the genre has to offer, including Bad Company, Optiv & BTK and Noisia to name a few, no stone goes unturned for the album’s entirety. Audio also throws bass-fuelled bullets in the form of exclusives, with explosive VIPs that have yet to be released. 

The brand new cut ‘Foodchain’ from Audio sets a theme which is prevalent throughout all 27 tracks. Uncompromising yet diligently crafted, it leads you into a freight train of musicality which holds you hostage from start to finish. Zipping through to the mechanical composition of Mefjus’ ‘Brainwork’, all the way back to Spor’s heavy-hitting ‘Bullet Time’ remix; this is a no holds barred exploration of the genre’s darker side.  

But what can you expect from the man who garners such an explosive reputation across the club circuit? Audio brings his live personality into the whole album and accompanying mix; one that doesn’t let you pause for breath. They’re a collection of tracks that’ll leave an atomic bomb sized impression inside the community, which further solidifies his reputation as an ever- growing, unstoppable goliath.
