Hold Up ft Kendra Foster is the breakout first single on Lonely C’s (aka Charles Levine of Soul Clap) debut album, Charles & Tribulations. Foster, known as a multitalented force of singer/songwriter who's toured the world for over a decade with Parliament-Funkadelic, won a grammy for her co-writing on D’Angelo & The Vanguard’s Black Messiah, most recently set forth as a solo act with her 2016 eponymous sophomore album. This may be Kendra’s first foray into house music, but she’s no stranger to the groove. This is a dance-floor classic in the making, already receiving powerful response from crowds at Soul Clap’s DJ sets. On Hold Up, Foster sings, “It's a sad and sorry thing if you gave all you got, its the day of reckoning and you ain't got a shot!”. Life tends to reveal its lessons in enigmatic ways — this fundamental story, paired with Lonely C's strong rhythm, huge analog chords, and powerful baseline, serves up a dish of steaming hot empowerment! If you monitor the house music scene coming out of Hong Kong, a name that you've probably heard of before is Romain Fx. For the past 10 years or so, Romain has been a key innovator in the HK scene, spearheading fresh concepts such as Roofest, the island's first rooftop festival and organizing monthly parties called ROAM in which he brings international artists such as Jayda G, Move D, Habibi Funk, Demuja to the city. Even if you're not too familiar with what is happening over that part of the world, you might even recognize him from his extensive touring in Europe, where he's played alongside the likes of Breakbot, Classixx, Kaytranada, College, Kolombo, Gigamesh, LNTG, FKJ, and many more.

In his latest effort, the French musician sets out with his Los Angeles brethren of Fantastic Voyage to release a collection of edits ranging from afro house to obscure disco cuts. The tune we're premiering for you guys today is an edit of Kamzu's song Indaba Kabani, which came out of South Africa during the early 90s. For those who love the original, you'll be happy to find out that RFX pays a lot of respect to it; choosing not to alter the original in a dramatic fashion. Instead, RFX simply makes it a tool that can easily be incorporated in DJ sets for you and me to unleash on the dancefloor! He's truly doing God's work here and we thank him for it.

Julien was born in the seaside resort of Deauville in Normandy, where he began working as a DJ at 16. Deauville is the home of Casino Barrière, arguably the most beautiful casino in Europe, where he played for three years every weekend, including for private events for brands such as Cartier, Printemps and Louis Vuitton. 
In 2012, he moved to St. Tropez and became the resident DJ at the Moorea Beach Club for three seasons. During the winter seasons, he also performed for luxury hotels in Courchevel (K2 collection). 
In 2015, he moved to the UK to take on the Head of Music role for Individual Restaurants (Piccolino's, Restaurant Bar & Grill, and Gino d'Acampo). 
In 2020, his DJ set started airing every Saturday night on Virgin Radio France, and he is now a resident DJ for Radio FG (FG Chic) in France. His podcast is frequently one of the most played in the country. Julien’s versatile and open-format style allows him to mould his DJ set to fit a large and diverse audience. 
He often performs at corporate parties and events all around the world, including Miami, Barcelona, Stockholm, Copenhagen, London, Edinburgh, Marrakech and more.
