Sleepless nights dancing to the acid house and techno house sounds of the mid 90’s put Julien under the spell of masterful DJ’s like Carl Cox, Louie Vega, and Derrick Carter. Late nights were all about dancing and learning the techniques, programing and mixing styles of the experienced DJ. At the age of 17, Julien started making mixtapes for friends. The early mixtapes led to dj sets at house parties and one off events, which eventually opened the doors to Julien’s first club gig. 

Julien began making waves in Toronto in the early 2000’s with residencies at the world-renowned Guvernment Nightclub and after hours favorite, Comfort Zone. His selected blend of house and techno music together with his magnetic charisma behind the decks, has moved dance floors from New York to Ibiza, Mexico to Miami to South and Central America, and beyond.

In 2008, Julien was invited to play at the 1st Annual BPM Festival in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, where a memorable set at Kool Beach Club led to a running residency with the festival. During these years, Julien has been the opening act for global DJ’s like Richie Hawtin, Dubfire, and Lee Burridge as well as DJing alongside some of the world’s most respected underground artists. In 2012, Julien made his Ibiza debut at Sankey’s and at New York’s Electric Zoo Festival, a three day festival in the heart of the big apple with over 100,000 attendees. 

After a number of bootlegs and white label remixes, including a remix of Boris Dlugosch’s “Keep Pushin”, Julien signed his first single “Don’t Stand So Close”, to Rawthentic Records. The single charted in the top ten of Beatport’s Minimal House downloads. Later that year he signed his “Fused EP” with Greg Gows Restructured label. “State of Mind”  made it on the label's 10 Years of Restructured compilation and was charted by numerous DJs. Since then, Julien’s music has found home on international imprints such as Inmotion, Potobollo, Proper Music, Pins and Needles, and Serkal. His tracks have been played and supported by global DJ’s such as Marco Carola and Nic Fanciulli, and have appeared on various charts including the globally competitive Beatport Top 100.

In 2017 Luv House was launched. A label on which Julien has released his latest productions like “Sax Tribe” featuring UK’s Alex Bone on sax and “These Games” featuring the talented vocalist, Shadrack Jackman. Luv house has also been a platform for dance events in Toronto, and his new home on the west coast of Canada, Victoria, BC. 

During the COVID pandemic lock downs, Julien began to work on a new project that incorporates his lyrical writing, vocals, keyboard playing and his love for live music through collaborations with talented musicians. The first EP is set to be released in spring 2023 with a BC tour to follow. In the meantime, Julien continues to set the soundtrack for dancefloors, locally and beyond, as well as release house music influenced productions on the Luv House label.
