Avocado - Airport Achievements (Daniel Neuland & Dave Dinger Remix)

I had the privilege of performing my first ever live set at the 8th Day of Creation (@8doc_music) at Afrikaburn 2024 between 10-12pm on the Saturday night. The theme of this years Burn was "Creation" and so it felt so fitting to play all original music at this incredible art piece. 

The stage was built by an international team from Berlin and Cape Town, and depicted a pregnant mother with the earth as her belly, a space of renewal, reconnection and rebirth.

I used Ableton Push, Novation Launch Control XL, Akai MPK Mini and Playtronica's touch sensitive midi hardware which I connected to a mushroom to trigger sound.

Thank you to 8Doc for having me as a part of your beautiful stage and thank you to all those who trekked to the far end of the playa to dance with me.

You always remember your first, and boy was this a night of firsts! ATB's first international and Senior Citizen's first ever set in South Africa. Locky Mazzucchelli has a knack for twisting familiar elements into unexpected shapes, and “Day 25” on Small World Compilation Vol. 2 shows just how deep his experiments run. The track opens in stripped-back territory: bleepy acid fragments orbit around one another, setting up a sense of both tension and playfulness. A raw, no-nonsense house bassline soon locks the groove into place, grounding the track’s restless swirl with body-moving intent.

But “Day 25” doesn’t stop there. About halfway through, a deep and dubby synth line creeps in, instantly shifting the mood and widening the scope.
