Josh Butler makes an appearance on Definition with his delightfully retro ‘Sideways Acid’ EP. Opening the 3 track EP is the title track, a rich, thick throwback to the days of Acid House sure to get any dance floor moving in no time. Next, we’ve got ‘Educate’, a straight house percussion with a warm rhythmic chord thrown over it. It’s relaxed enough to listen to at home, but contains enough energy to be played in the club. Lastly, ‘What I Want’ starts us off with a nice and heavy beat before building up to a playful bass line and wandering vocal cuts that sit nicely in the background. All in all, Josh Butler shows us a beautiful example of how modern House done right.

The Promise kicks off with layers of atmospheric percussion overlapping an infectious house beat before the smooth, catchy vocal loop begins. Cleverly fused together with that trademark deep and haunting bounce, The Golden boy has nailed the perfect crossover track combining feel good vibes with a club filling bass. Influenced by the likes of Basement Jaxx, Daft Punk, Armand Van Helden and Groove Armada, having already gained support from Pete Tong.

Sidney Charles & Santé have teamed up again to forge the 'Forever EP’ on Hot Creations with Russ Yallop on remix duty. Those that have witnessed their epic sets playing together will know the vibrant energy they create and this latest offering stands stead to them.

The title track ‘Forever’ uses dynamic claps, an indelible beat and a simple but effective vocal that ties all the elements together. With a playful production technique at its heart, this is a cut made for summertime. Things get a little darker with ‘Mogli’, morphing high-pitched, glitchy sounds alongside a hissing beat. On the flip side, Russ Yallop remixes ‘Forever’ to make the whole track bounce with a heavy and thick bassline.

Hamburg-born Sidney Charles has only been releasing music for four years but has already had a string of successes on labels such as 8bit, Moda Black, AVOTRE and VIVa. Berlin-based Santé is also involved with all areas of music as he DJ’s, produces, and is building on his own record label AVOTRE. Sidney Charles & Santé have previously released on Hot Creations with ‘All Night Long’ on the ‘Hot Summer Jams’ album.

Russ Yallop is a key member of the underground house scene and  is no stranger to Hot Creations; he has previously released ‘Traffic’ and ‘System Crank’ with them, whist also regularly DJing at their worldwide events. He is also an established member of the Crosstown Rebels family after first releasing with them in 2010.

Crafting music at all hours of the day, there is often the instance where Chris sharpens his craft and refreshes his palate by creating music outside of his normal parameters.
