Rapper Brandon Markway and Producer Mike Gilmore collaborate together in order to combine the beast that is Julz Vurn. Brandon Markway, also known as Nub, provides audiences with a style and lyrics that permeate into the forgotten realms of pure hip hop. With a raw sound that brings out the grittier side of life and allows the listener into his world. Julz Vurn keeps the audience at the edge of their seat wondering what is going to be said next.

Julz Vurn’s songs ruminate with the intellectual writings of the classics and mix in the truth and experiences of hip hop. Taking intellectual rap to a new lane this artist is providing the audience with a sound that is rarely heard in the local scene. Classically trained with a strong understanding of rhythm and beats this rapper supersedes those around him and presence is strong and exemplified in his music.

Nub’s lyrics are complemented beautifully by the beats of Mike Gilmore. With his own past that precedes him Mike’s former work includes co-founding Breakdown Teknique and creating beats featuring local artists such as Joey Cool and Chase Compton. With a sound that blows the minds of listeners away it is no surprise that these two come together in such a cohesive way.

With influences that include Aesop Rock, Fugees, Action Bronson, and Deltron it is hard to know what to expect next from Julz Vurn. What is known to be expected is a style and sense of promise that is rarely seen in local hip hop.
