so unaccustomed in an unfamiliar place/

i thought by coming here i'd re-write history/

it was such an utter mystery/
my light's now turned on/
because you flipped my switch/
yet my worry still persists: a constant itch/
and so i sit here as each hour is stretched thin/
contemplating on this shadow of a ghost i've been/
not realizing the fragile state i'm in/
when this is over i'll know just how to begin/
too long i went and still i sat unblinking/
i could never stop myself from thinking/
of all the things that i should've said/
but i just held my tongue instead/
i just can't stand to see your pain/
it means you've lost something you must regain/
remarkable you still remain/

stood at my shore not knowing how to swim/
preoccupying paranoia made my blood run thin/
i have my memories and i have my goodbyes/

yet i had war paint on my face/
