Adding a nostalgic twist, he incorporates sounds from beloved childhood video games such as Tekken 5, GTA San Andreas, and Dance Dance Revolution, further enriching the album's sonic tapestry.

Introducing JumbogoatXXL's journey into the Techno realm, where his newfound passion led him deep into the rabbit hole of techno subgenres. In the thick of this exploration, he stumbled upon the world of Hardgroove Techno – a fusion of fun and groove that ignited his creative spirit.

Exploring the Techno raves in Singapore, JumbogoatXXL recognized a unique opportunity. In the dark sounds of the local techno scene, he envisioned infusing it with the infectious energy and dynamism of Techno's brighter facets, a mission he strives for.

Behold "Timezone Techno 2003" – a track born from the fusion of Hardgroove Techno, the late 90s Japanese Techno Parapara music, and the iconic Arcade masterpiece, Dance Dance Revolution. 

The origins of the track's name traces back to an adventure with a friend, Dave Anonuevo, when they headed to test out studio monitors at Swee Lee. JumbogoatXXL played  X Club. ‘s  track “Habitual Drum Loop no.08'' to test out the monitor’s sound quality and that’s when Dave said “it sounds like i'm in Timezone”, which is the name of an Arcade franchise.

Immerse yourself in the fusion of these diverse influences, as JumbogoatXXL encapsulates the sounds of Dance Dance Revolution with Techno influences that inspired him, transporting you back to the nostalgia of an arcade-filled childhood. JumbogoatXXL - Four Teh - "Toilet" DJ Set

JumbogoatXXL delved into the realm of Techno with an adventurous spirit, leading him to explore various avenues of self-expression, particularly within the realm of Hardgroove Techno.

In the creation of the track titled "Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 2," he embarked on a journey to infuse Brazilian vocal samples into his Techno compositions, infusing an ethnic allure. These vocal samples were strategically woven into the track, casting a hypnotic spell on the listener and strategically capturing their attention at pivotal junctures. Notably, this marked the second instance in which he employed the same vocal sample, thereby earning the title "Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 2."

Throughout the production process, a sense of innate connection prevailed, as the track resonated akin to the iconic stage music featured in the nostalgic fighting game, Tekken 5—a cherished relic from his childhood. This sentiment prompted the incorporation of electric guitar tones, infusing a dynamic momentum and vigor into the composition. The resultant fusion bore semblance to the spirited ambiance of a martial arts video game, aligning seamlessly with the track's moniker, "Brazilian Jiu Jitsu 2."

By harmonizing these creative concepts, JumbogoatXXL skillfully weaves a sonic tapestry that seamlessly entwines the evocative essence of early 2000s Hardgroove Techno with his cherished reminiscences of Tekken 5—an integral part of his formative years. The outcome is a composition poised to delight and captivate the dance floor, engendering an infectious sense of merriment, groove, and vitality, while concurrently invoking a heartwarming wave of nostalgia for its listeners.

JumbogoatXXL - Four Teh - "Car" DJ Set

In this phase of JumbogoatXXL's journey in Techno music production, his willingness to embrace diverse perspectives and styles within the Techno genre has provided him with a wealth of knowledge and confidence to experiment with various Techno ideas and demos.

Drawing from the experience and confidence gained from his previous Techno productions, JumbogoatXXL finds inspiration in the Trance duo DJ Heartstring. This influence encourages him to bridge the gap between groovy elements found in Hardgroove Techno and the melodic components prominent in Euro Trance. Adding a unique twist, he incorporates Hip Hop vocal samples and sound effects as a nod to his origins as a Hip Hop music producer.

Maintaining his dedication to the Y2K aesthetic, JumbogoatXXL aspires to create hypnotic grooves and incorporates Hip Hop samples and melodic chords reminiscent of the disco era. The resulting fusion of these elements brings forth a track he aptly names "Disco Fever." The name not only reflects the energetic and nostalgic essence of the track but also pays homage to the arcade game Dance Dance Revolution, which holds a special place in his childhood memories.

"Disco Fever" emerges as a captivating composition that promises to ignite the dance floor. Its dynamic blend of Euro Trance elements, groovy Techno, and the infusion of diverse genres and styles speaks to JumbogoatXXL's creativity and innovation as a music producer. By drawing on his multifaceted influences and experiences, he crafts a track that resonates with listeners on various levels, providing both a sonic journey and a connection to his roots and inspirations.

Imogen Heap is a sample goldmine FR. I've always wanted to experiment with this track, and I finally got the chance with this remix.

I initially made two versions—one sampling Imogen Heap's "Headlock" and another incorporating A$AP Rocky's "Angels," which also samples "Headlock."

I couldn’t decide which one to upload, so I combined both and dropped all three versions at once!

For the third year in a row, JBL supports the next generation of musical talent from around the world through the JBL Music Academy.

Now, JBL will curate performances on Tomorrowland's House of Fortune stage, offering the alumni of the Academy a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform at the festival grounds.

Before that, they introduce their sound on One World Radio, Tomorrowland's own radio station.

Pure Instinct - VOL1

Made this edit in the process of finding my new sound. I really liked the outcome of this remix, which inspired my new artistic direction as JumbogoatXXL

Tzusing is a Malaysian-born electronic artist whose music blends techno, industrial, non-Western rhythms, and contemporary club sounds.

The tribal chants, the dark atmosphere, the Asian percussions, I had to do an edit. I wanted it to be hypnotic and groovy, something that feels like a portal into Southeast Asia.
