you know those albums you had when you were a kid, that had a huge impact on your musical influence except, for lack of better words, "struck a different chord" than all the rest, emotionally speaking? Yeah this was one of those for us. 

"For me this whole album is like an important piece of clay that slowly shaped the blueprint mold for wanting to be my own musician with my own sound, shape, & style, and there isn't a single one of us in this outfit who doesn't absolutely love EBTG, especially this landmark of an album in particular. And Like it or not, if you know anything about the history and/or culture at all, and by that I mean Electronic Music as a whole, you KNOW that this duo and this album especially, were a HUGE representation during its time, of what I feel like a lot of artists in the community have always truly yearned for; 'to proudly own some land outside the genre-fence', if that make sense." 

"Also, if nothing else, I just wanted an excuse to jam this lush beast of an old school stepper into something to roll into a current dancefloor set."

UK outfit Bad Bambino describe themselves as "a techno funk band bringing you groovilicious tunes with a beat that is guaranteed to get you bopping!" On the evidence of this, their first official release, they certainly have an ear for a catchy pop tune - who knows, the lightweight, frothy original could even have mainstream Top 40 potential. But for more serious spinners it's the remixes that'll be of more interest, with Mannix the pick for commercial floors, Andy Baker treading a more sophisticated, understated path and Yam Who? turning in Vocal and Instrumental rubs that sit right on the soulful house/nu-disco cusp.
