This song is a kind of mash-up: its lyrics is taken from a poem by classic Tatar poet Khadi Taktash, and combined with a tune written by Syd Matters. This song is among the first ones to have the band’s distinctive transparent and aery sound. 

This song was intended to show the alternative view of Urman Kyzy (the Forest girl) from Khadi Taktash’s poem. On the one hand she is a mythological and mysterious creature and on the other hand she is in sync with our times.

This song is a cover version of a song by Mubai . The title means “Your year” and it tells about a wonderful year spent together. Alexander Titov, the former member of “Kino” and “Aquarium” bands, kindly performed a part of fretless bass for this song.

The lyrics of Irte (The Morning) is written by classic Tatar poet Gabdulla Tukay. The lyrics of the song depicts an early morning in a village, but the music attempts to make it more relevant for a modern listener.

The indie-band Juna from Kazan is releasing their album "Amanat". It consists of the songs featuring the contemporary Tatar poets’ poems, and the word "Ämanät" can be translated from Tatar as "deposited" (given to keep).
The album is based on the poems of the contemporary Tatar poets – Louise Yansuar, Yoldyz Minnullina, Robert Akhmetzyanov, Azat Mirgayazov and Elmira Sharifullina.

Hi, Juna music band here! We are an indie-folk band from Kazan. Our songs are mostly in Tatar (the official language of Tatarstan republic where we live). We use classical Tatar poetry (Tukay, Taktash) as well as the pieces written by modern Tatar poets. Our group also performs songs in English. We like to explore colours of different musical instruments – that is why along with standard guitar, bass-guitar and keyboards we use every instrument we can lay our hands on =): ukulele, banjo, dozen types of flutes, tampura, djembe, kajon, different percussion, accordion, metallophone, double bass and many others.
