“Something Good To Miss”  is a song with a feel good positive energy.  It is that “tingly” feeling when love is new and you are separated by distance or circumstance. It is the butterflies you feel when anticipating your next meet up with the object of your desire. That is what we were thinking when we wrote this song. Hence, the chorus “24/7 365” “on my mind” “Something Good To Miss”. It was co-written with Kayliann Lowe and Bill DiLuigi in Nashville.

'Til Your Heart Breaks

This song is a light hearted, upbeat song– the perfect summer romance tune for anyone who is looking for love. As the chorus implies the gentlemen is thinking: Cause I’m hoping for more than a shrug/Or a sideways look I’m pushing my luck a little hard/Thinking that you might light up/When you say yes/Please don’t keep me in the dark/Would you be my blue-eyed baby I’m hoping for more than a maybe 

Juna–This song is about asking that special someone out on a date and you aren’t hoping for a no and you may not be ready for a yes but you are hoping that you may get “More Than A Maybe”. And having blue eyes myself my favorite line in the song is Would you be my blue-eyed baby/ I’m hoping for more than a maybe.
				
Joey–As a guy, it takes courage to ask a girl out on a date and facing a potential rejection.  On the other hand,  you have to just do it and ask them out and you are hoping for anything but a hard no even if it is “More Than A Maybe”. My favorite line to sing is: There’s a little movie playin in my head and the other line is :   It’s gonna be a night that we will never forget.

More Than A Maybe

Juna N Joey returns with yet another beautiful interpretation of a more than a common situation. 'I’m So Over You’' depicts the nerve-wracking uncertainty of regretful and  wishful thinking of the aftermath of an on again off again breakup. Juna N Joey have put their own contemporary twist on classic country themes on their first EP and use their music as a diary of coming-of-age subjects such as falling in love, anxieties of putting yourself out there, first crush, and first heartbreak. 

Juna:  “I’m So Over You” is about finally getting over the person you have been hung up on and realizing you are better off without them and that is where the line “Because I’m not havin fun this time I’m done”  expresses that sentiment and acknowledging that “your not playing these games no more”.  So many people do this back and forth and the breakups can sometimes last longer than the actual relationship. How many times have you had a friend that is on again/off again every other time you speak with them and then even when it’s over it’s not over–and eventually they are done done.  That is what this song is about and I think we can all relate to that at least that one time.

Joey: You can get so hung up on somebody even though you know they are not good for you and you keep breaking up and going back together and gettin up in  their feelings every time instead of using their head and the line says “drove by that old tree the one with the memories (think carved initials) sometimes I wished you’d call just to tell me your changing” meaning even though you are already broken up they are still occupying space in your head and taking up your time–and they aren’t with you anymore and this line goes on to say that when they are calling you, you are hoping they are going to say it’s their fault and they are going to change and we all know that won’t happen–”Don’t be hitting my line no more” so it’s about YOU stopping those feelings and letting them go finally and do not answer it because as the song says “this can’t be undone”–liberating your own mind–so the back and forth is no good–just be strong and be free of their ex completely and “go out and have some fun”.

We had the song title in our hook book and our co-writer, Jimmy Nash,  thought the idea was cool and we went back and forth with it and made it the title. The phrase is usually “Slip Out The Back Door” so we put a little twist and made it our own by using the “Side Door” instead.  I think it is relatable because in a small town you can run into your ex or your boss at the most inopportune times and although Joey and I have not experienced many things we write about–we are songwriters and writers interpret life. This new EP shows our evolution our transition into college life now that we are both Berklee students it will be interesting what our college years bring from an experiential point of view

Juna: This song is from a woman's perspective of high moral standards and values, yet she is still human. The first verse explains “I ain't the kind that stays out too late” and “But I try and do what a good girl should'' She treats others well and lives her life as best as she can but “I’ve been bad about makin it to church on Sundays, Bad at sayin’ what I really need to say''. She expresses herself when she says, “A good girl gone on a backroad on a slow roll” “In a lifted up pick up truck blowin smoke” and indulges her wild side “With a bottle of whiskey singing strawberry wine” and finally getting to know herself “There’s another side of me that I wanna find” This is song is for all women and especially those who are trying to blow off steam and carve out their own personality.

Joey: This song represents to me what a lot of men are interested in today: a strong, good woman who can still hang with the boys–she has a truck, she drinks whiskey, she is real, she is human, she is standing up for herself. Since Juna is my sister, I love that she is unassuming, yet a badass “There’s another side of me that I wanna find” “It ain't right and I know it's wrong” “Cause I’m a good girl good girl getting gone” Juna has a Ford 150, she is smart, brave and intelligent. I cannot wait for the fans to really get to know her–so happy with this song we wrote and I am proud of her too.

Good Girl Gone - Juna N Joey

This song is about a cowboy who battles with, being a better man and settling down, and changing his player ways of breaking hearts, and constantly chasing the next best thing. It is sung through the perspective of a girl who wants to show him a real love that doesn’t run and give him the commitment he wants, and his buddy who has been there and tells him how crazy it would be to let a girl like her go.

Crazy Cowboy - Juna N Joey

This song from Juna's perspective is a fun upbeat
shout-out to all the men also known as "boys" in our
song, that wear boots. Cowboys are the obvious for a
country singer, however, as Joey points out in the
chorus "God Bless Boys in Boots". Joey notes,
"When we were writing this song we realized that not
just cowboys wear boots". "For instance, military
men, ranchers, country singers, construction workers
and police officers for example". Hence the lyric Joey
sings in the chorus "God Bless Boys in Boots". All
"Boys in Boots" for all that they do for this country.
Juna's favorite lines in the song are, "I go crazy for
Lucchese's and kickin up dust in a dance hall".
"Lovin me blue Wranglers and good manners" "I
mean who wouldn't like a guy that can dance and has
good manners". She points out, "At the time we
weren't thinking this could be a pitch opportunity yet,
our team thought of it right away".
"And as it turned out Wrangler has now sponsored
Joey and I. It's so cool that "Boys in Boots" are the
same guys who wear Wranglers.
"As a country artist
it doesn't get better than an all American global
