Dusting off our boots, we're on our own,
to another misadventure, destination still unknown.

There was so much left for us to do,
and I know I wasn't perfect, but neither were you.
So we stayed up late at night,
counting all our flaws and making them feel quite alright.

Je zit in een cafeetje in de Dorpsstraat om de hoek,
en dan zie je haar zitten met een bruine floeren broek.
En je luistert naar haar spreken over liefde, drugs en heil
En ook al denk je 'wat een zaag', je wordt een beetje geil.

Je vriendin is een hippie, waarschijnlijk een nudist,
ze is een vegetariër of misschien een veganist
en ze houdt van bomen, van planten en van wiet,
en ze heeft altijd een mening klaar, maar douchen doet ze niet.

Op zo'n hippieconcerten staat ze helemaal vanvoor,
en dan sleurt ze je mee naar elk fucking hippiekoor
die zingen over wereldvree en over de natuur
maar snel verveelt het en vertrek je naar't frituur.

En ze haat het als je leer draagt, ook al ben je geen nicht
toch als je je jas aandoet vertrekt heel haar gezicht
en ze haat het als je vlees eet, een worstje of een steak
het is nog niet naar binnen of het is weer een uur gezeik.

en ze houdt van bomen, van planten en van wiet,
en ze heeft altijd een mening klaar, maar douchen doet ze niet.

S'nachts lig je in je bed en denk je 'wat een halvegaar'
en toch ga je bomen knuffelen want je houdt zoveel van haar
en je hebt altijd je twijfels, soms denk je 'het is gedaan'
als ze weer eens ligt te huilen omdat niemand haar ziet staan.

Maar toch als iemand anders, zo'n typ 'ecologie'
weer met haar staat te flirten wordt je groen........ van jaloezie.
Want je kan het niet veranderen, je ziet haar veel te graag
en oké, dat hippie-kantje kan je missen als de plaag

Je vriendin is een hippie, waarschijnlijk een nudist,
ze is een vegetariër of misschien een veganist
en ze houdt van bomen, van planten en van wiet,
en ze heeft altijd een mening klaar, maar douchen doet ze niet.

Maar ze is een heel lief meisje, dat is toch wat ze beweert,
ze heeft een zekere charme, ook omdat ze zich niet scheert.
Ze wil stoppen met ontbossing, en dat is heel ambitieus,
maar voor haar verjaardag koop je haar toch een tondeus.

Ja, je kan haar best wel graag zien, maar er valt niets op te bouwen,
als toppunt, zo blijkt het, is ze ook nog voor de vrouwen
en ook al vind je dat niet erg, en vind je het best wel leuk,
ze denkt toch altijd aan je zus terwijl je met haar n-... danst.
