« C'est fin 2015 que Sumac Dub rencontre pour la première fois The Maucal's, deux
frangins de Grenoble, pour une première collaboration intitulée « Under The Moon
» (Dubtape Sound #3). S'en suit deux nouvelles productions que Sumac incorpore à
son EP Matsya, fin juin 2016.
De là née l'idée d'un projet commun. Un EP 7 titres, « One thousand Layers », le
tout signé sous le nom de Sumac Dub meets The Maucal's. Cette collaboration,
issue d'une amitié solide et d'un sérieux parfois douteux donne naissance à un
mélange subtile entre les deux univers. Tantôt reggae, tantôt dub techno, cet EP est
un billet pour une exploration sonore sans frontières. Le tout appuyé avec force par
les textes et les voix puissantes des Maucal's. »
