Incoming with an hour and half of mid week Atmospheric bliss is Electra!

Electra has been DJing on the Cardiff underground circuit since 2019, playing sets spanning a wide spectrum of bpm's, from UK garage and breaks through to hardcore, jungle, footwork and drum and bass. She is a resident DJ for the renowned Cardiff brand Concrete Junglists, having most recently played at their sold out collaboration event with OTB in Bristol, supporting Mickey Finn. She has established herself as a main player in Cardiff, having played at the most recent Metalheadz and Function:al events in the City.  

As well as being a club DJ, she has held numerous radio residencies with Life.Fm, Dub Frequency and Goat Shed.

Due to continuing pandemic situation one of the biggest Drum'n'Bass and Bass music event of Leipzig: "Drum'n'Bass Reloaded" could not take place for the second year. To keep the spirit alive and give hope for a new edition next year four mixes of #dubstep, #footwork, #jungle and #dnb were collected by diverse protagonists and broadcasted by Radio Blau on Friday 03.12.2021.

Malcolm (@downtownlyrics-crew) is known to master the play of different styles from hip hop via dubstep and footwork to grime. For the 3rd part of the series he chooses Jungle what is like a return to the beginning of a circle as he started djing in early 90ties. But a return which starts refreshed to take up all those versatile Jungle breaks of these days!

Riddim Scholar, ragga scientist and remixer of artists from M.I.A. to Gregory Isaacs, DJ C dropped this, his debut full-length album, in the summer of 2007. Straddling dancehall, grime, crunk & dubstep, “Sonic Weapons” was designed to kill sound-systems and destroy dance-floors. 

The album features guest appearances by Chicago bad-man ragga vocalist MC Zulu, renowned Viennise thereminist Pamelia Kurstin, wicked wicked Boston riddim scholar Wayne&Wax, Jamaican vocalists Wasp & Dami D, & U.K. toaster, Quality Diamond. "UK Allstars (Congo Natty meetys Benny Page - Radio Edit)" featuring Tenor Fly, Top Cat, General Levy, Tippa Irie, Sweetie Irie and Daddy Freddy, taken from the album "Jungle Revolution", to be released on Big Dada Recordings, 1 July 2013. 

Congo Natty aka Rebel MC has a career dating back to his early hit with Double Trouble, "Street Tuff," but is probably most respected as one of the pioneers of Jungle - perhaps the first uniquely UK-born bass music. 

"Jungle Revolution" features the whole of the extended Congo Natty family and was mixed with Adrian Sherwood. Clearly showing this Rasta's belief that Jungle is a re-boot of roots reggae for a new century, the record is full of blood and fire, the sternum-buzz of sub-bass, rapid fire drum breaks, sweet hooks, righteous anger and professions of religious fervour. It’s the kind of passionate, committed, raw and spiritual, beautiful record that doesn’t come along every day.  

To celebrate this release, we are streaming the track "UK Allstars," which features a who's who of British soundsystem culture. This is the first time ever that this line up have all appeared on one track together and so also marks a historic coming together of a scene which lies at the roots of so much of what we now take for granted in UK music, from dubstep to grime to drum & bass and beyond.
