[Raggattack] Tonto Addi - Dancehall Showcase (Break Koast records)

Talented, active and versatile are words used to describe an active Jamaican musical entertainer, Leabert Byfield (aka) Junior Vibes.

Junior Vibes was born in St. Catherine, and raised in Kingston; Trench Town to be exact was where most of days were spent. He lived with his mother who kept herself occupied by being self-employed in order to provide for the family.

Junior who attended the Berry Hill All Aged School in St. Catherine, where he continued his education at Charley Smith High School. From there he started practicing singing on a sound system called Creative Souls with dj Steady Ranks, Sister Jackey and Thriller.

Junior Vibes was inspired by artist such as Ken Boothe, Phillip Frazer and Alton Ellis.
Vibes did a combination of songs with artist like Terry Ganzie, Sugar Black, Jah Jah Ranks.

Producer Winston Riley was impressed with his singing and took him to Channel One Studio where he recorded his first single “When will I see You”, which was a hit. He went on to do other hits like “I am in Love” for Red Man (Hugh James) on the Red Man International Label.

Over the years he has enhanced his career by learning more about the fundamentals of the music industry and this he has developed better music skills and also a better lifestyle. His philosophy is for everyone to be their best at whatever they are inspired to be.

His formula for success is thinking positively and acting on them, and staying focus whilst reaching for higher levels.

Placing his life in Jah hands is the basic ingredient of his solemn existence.
