“Empty Promises” by Saints No More is a raw and heavy reflection on self-deception, regret, and the search for truth after everything else has burned away. It’s not just about betrayal from others—it’s about facing the lies we tell ourselves and the damage they leave behind.

The verses hit with grit and vulnerability: worth measured in scars, truth cutting like nails, and promises reduced to ashes. The chorus digs deep into the aftermath—haunted thoughts, wounded pride, and the struggle to keep moving forward without collapsing under the weight of it all.

By the second verse, the song strips away illusions completely: “The anchor that kept me stable has long since rusted away.” It’s a stark admission that nothing lasts when it’s built on lies. What remains is only truth—harsh, painful, but real.

Musically, “Empty Promises” carries Saints No More’s signature power: moody verses that simmer with tension before erupting into anthemic choruses. Heavy riffs, crushing rhythm, and a delivery soaked in grit make this track both personal and universal.
