Growing up eating bread and winmx, Cobra (@djcorallo) spent his teenage years, riding his bike with a walkman in the pocket, collecting records and dreaming of a life in afterparty. A 20-years-old with no destination, he reunites a few suburban kids and founds the collective TDC Palazzi, through which he promotes urban subculture and brings a breathe of fresh air in Torino’s nightlfe. An incorrigible romantic and entertainment advocate, he’s always ready to build the perfect custom-made hi-fi soundsystem to play the sound you alway dreamed of but never realised.

Reconstruction of the set I played as a support for Detroit Techno Militia. Enjoy the journey of contrasting sounds. Jazzy, Deep, Spacey and Genre-crossing.
I want to change the perception that jazz only belongs to the lounge music, I want to show that there are many jazzy house-tech sounds that could be played at a club or festival.

A Journey through Jazz.

The set explores everything from downtempo ,trip-hop, lounge, disco, soul, afro, house, minimal-tech to experimental. It still retains coherency through jazz grooves and the sounds I am chasing across the set. My heart lies in jazz and I love playing across different genres.

I picked some of my favourites that will get you dancing at any tempo. I am also an advocate for playing classically a “lounge music” at night clubs among house and techno music, hope this may inspire you. 


Track 2. Walk with Us - Amanda Whiting & Don Leisure 

A heavenly collaboration between the jazz harp goddess Amanda Whiting and the UK producer Don Leisure. One of my favourite tracks at the moment, dreamy and mysterious atmosphere, suitable for late hours as well. 

Track 3. Just Relax Yourself -  Freedom Satellite & Raimund Flöck

Vienna Scientists is one of my favourite labels from Austria. This track is Leftfied, dubby & trip-hoppy. I listened to a lot of trip-hop/acid jazz in my youth. Love mixing this kind of dark-dub vibes to counterbalance the sweet jazz grooves. Definitely the rabbit hole you wanna get lost into. 

Tracks 4 & 5. Confusão  - Vibes4YourSoul ; I Betacha! - Dave Mathmos

I have a few records from the Too Slow To Disco label. They do really groovy downtempo souls and disco music. I picked a samba tune that I mix a lot in my sets, a track with groovy vibes brought from the local Australian producer Dave Mathmos.

Track 6. Are you Satisfied - The Rah Band

I love The Rah Band! Soulful, Jazzy but has that iconic 80s synth-pop vibes. Also they are a master of storytelling, producing emotionally provoking songs. 

Track 8 & 20. Pour Faire le Portrait d’un Oiseaux- Stéphane Pompougnac ; No Communication, No Love - Charles Shillings

I have a few collections of Hotel Costes series mixed by Stephane Pompougnac. Classy & Jazzy curation but also under-played in the dance context, and I love to mix some tracks here and there in the club context as well.

Track 12. Bottera Rejam - Delfonic & Kapote 

Delfonic and Kapote’s Illegal Jazz productions are insanely good. They do a lot of reworks on 70s vintage jazz fused with contemporary beats. Just can’t get enough of them!

Track 14. Fuck Yeah - Leon Phal

This track by Leon Phal is an example that dance music doesn’t need to be produced electronically. This up-tempo jazz groove fits right in among EDMs in my opinion. 

Track 16. Everything is Changing (Swag Remix) - Groove Collective

One of my favourite house labels from the 90s is the Naked Music Recordings, super jazzy & funky but also has a dreamy liquid touch. I have a few records from them and this track is really groovy and guarantees you to get moving

Track 19. Milano Bossa - Aqua Bassino 

When I first heard this track I thought this is exactly what I am looking for. A perfect combo of Chuggy house beats, a sexy bass line, and a groovy jazz melody, but not too sweet. Aqua Bassino hailing from Edinburgh, Scotland. 

Track 23. Son of Dragon - Liquid People

Early 2000s goody. A beautiful liquid melancholic melody line on repeat that you can’t get enough of. Play this a lot in the late hours. 

Track 25. Rua Do Trombeta - Madrid De Los Austrias  

I really love Madrid De Los Austrias, from Austria with a Spanish Flair. Their tracks often have really beautiful jazz lines with a hint of darkness, offering a variety of tracks spanning from trip-hop, disco-groove to tech-house, worth exploring. I like bringing an edge to my set by mixing their music. This track has a lot of rich sounds and harmony, and goes well with up-tempo liquid EDMs too.  

Track 28. New Beginning - Byron The Aquarius (feat. Rasheeda Ali)

Byron The Aquarius brings a perfect fusion of soulful house meets jazz. The track is already so captivating from the beginning with beautiful soft keyboard opening, featuring gorgeous flute player Rasheeda Ali. So many layers of sounds and a pure joy to listen to.

Artistry of Fusion Ep.12: Juno
