this is my 1st time covering a song that was originally recorded by a male vocalist, and it's also the first time I don't use any vocal effect. the piece was written by Nine Inch Nails, and their version sounds even darker than the version that Johnny Cash did in 2002. the lyrics sound like Southern Gothic literature, which is essentially tragic, treating darkness as a normalized part of society.
