Violoncello Solo, here followed by my own arrangement for Bassoon solo.

I grew up in Southern Hesse and began composing in Darmstadt, just before my father was diagnosed with a giant glioblastoma, shortly before Christmas in 1989. Surgery and radiotherapy, but again a giant tumor then. His passing at the age of 48, nine months later, shortly before my 19th birthday, came at a time when I was preparing for my Abitur in Music and Biology. I wrote this piece, which I formerly titled "Phantasy", when there was a little hope for healing. He was able to hear me playing the piece and died at home 4 months later, on 28th August 1990.

qu'aucune flamme de l'Enfer, jamais ne brûlera.

Je lui dirai seul'ment que j'suis bien avec elle
quand tout ses rires emplissent ma tête d'autres images ;
des endroits merveilleux qu'on rejoint d'un coup d'ailes,
où l'éclat des ses yeux m'adresse tous ces messages.

Je lui dirai seul'ment tous ces mots qui rassurent ;
ces perches que l'on se tend pour mieux croire en l'av'nir.
J'inventerai des verbes qui conjuguent le futur
pour qu'on se dise tout, sans avoir à le dire.

Mais, je n'lui dirai pas ...
