Techno can be happy, techno can be sad, techno can be fast, techno can be slow, it can be deep or banging, it can be straightforward as well as abstract. It might be the soundtrack of hell but may bring you to paradise. 
Techno has many faces and this compilation shows but some of them.
STAUB has always been about the unknown and about diversity: newcomers come on stage after old-timers, peak time happens anytime. Line-ups are not announced. The rules of the game are blurred.

STAUB 006 will be released on (18. Sept. 2021). A record that embraces the very idea of various with 5 tracks and 5 shades of a genre we love and sometimes live for.

Relationships continuously changed: some people came and went, other acquaintances exited and entered our circles, but real friendships always stood the test of time. Whether in disparate places or on different trajectories, your day ones remained — no matter how many weeks, months or years were spent apart, nothing seemed to change. You simply pick up where you left off.

Berlin's Warning Records kick off 2022 with a split EP from a few day oners: Giraffi Dog and Henry 3000, with extra production sparkle from Erik Jäähalli and DJ Hummer. In signature Warning style the 12" balances hands-in-the-air euphoria and slick electro hip hop jams, opening with our pick of the bunch from Giraffi Dog & Erik Jäähalli: an anthemic rave cut which has been doing the rounds in Warning circles.

Queena and Yumi played together for their sessions. This is perhaps the most musical and expressive recording I have recorded so far and is representative of the kind of recordings I have been fortunate to record these past few months. It is the one that had the most effect on me. Every time I listen to this, I am just overwhelmed. It is just beautiful.

They begin playing the bowls and titanium gong. Starting at the pace of life, it is full of energy and music. Heavy hits on the bowls shake the senses as mixed musical sequences create a pleasant environment. She shares the sonic space with Yumi as she awakens the gong- swelling, swallowing everything. As she retreats, the bowls slowly come up for air with their song. The bowls begin to become less varied as Queena strikes only a few bowls at a time, sometimes striking a single bowl until its constant ring fills your ears. The striking stops. Descent is imminent.

A rain box is flipped as it creates a constant shower. The next scene begins. Everything slows way down. The last rhythm is played as Yumi signals a transition with a single hit of her large symphonic gong.

What happens next is a dance. The synergy between them is amazing. You are enraptured with their song as it embraces you and takes you lower and lower until the veil is removed and you realize where you are. Love and loss. Light and dark. Everything and nothing. It is balance. It is powerful. It is deep. The pressure crushes you as you take shallow breaths. You find them again as they pull you to the surface. They conclude playing with the rain box. As the last few stones trickle down, they end with their final note as you break the surface and take a breath.

The choice you've just made to check here, is probably a sign that you are still one of those, who do enjoy playing a full album of house, techno and music in general. These days informations are so vast, we have to focus and filter out even more and more. It almost became unnatural. The sense is often hoovering above the next headline, the next approval, which we could mesh in our zones, as the next anchor-point and checkmark. It became somewhat difficult to open ourselfs in our natural-meant way and beyond just the next externally provided new thing. On this new STL album 'Further Earmates', it is more the approach of moving beyond the tangent of modern day-to-day consumption. Doing it's thing and sculpting totally from scratch, without much useless outta influences. Everything here has been made with joy, solely in nocturnal jam sessions, under the favor of the night. Like every Stephan Laubner production, all music is representing the dedicated art to create and use unheard, uncommon, self made sounds and frequencies. Not using tinned food. No typical premade drums and presets, no sampled third party- or even stolen sounds at that. The mission to create & research for sound continues here even further. The brushstroke, the art and the detail in the end, hopefully will be not just another sweeping newslet, but music in your ears too. Something to spend one's time, something to feel, something to smile, dance or nod your head to. Go in for it, or not. It is safely protected by the heart. Afterall these new earmates are surely another touching element in a wide-scaled catalog and another unflappable little luvely hymn for the world of sound. Switch of the words now please - leave the world aside and let the music do it's thing. Enjoy!

Swiss DJ/Producer Audrey Danza debuts for the Bassiani Podcast series with an hour and a half of her own music, composed mostly of her unreleased tracks as well as a few exciting collaborations. From tripped-out techno, to house and trance bent rhythms, this mix shows that Audrey’s course has been nothing short of impressive, from Geneva and now Berlin. Since her intro to the local scene back in 2019, she’s racked up a residency at multidisciplinary event space Motel Campo, played clubs from Panorama Bar to Circoloco to Robert Johnson and Fabric, and, as a means of rereleasing lost 80-90s records at first (and now her own productions as well), kicked off her label Proxima in 2020. She’s also been active in the world of Berlin nightlife, where she relocated since 2022, with frequent collabs with the Sound Metaphors family, from party series to collaborations around her label. On top of a busy schedule and a growing pile of remixes and from the ground up productions, Audrey stays the course. Her sound is a fusion of industrial beats and percussions, acid, 90s synths house, self-aware and constantly cross-referencing to sculpt a fleshed out world of sound that’s psychedelic and deeply immersive. Bassiani Podcast 268 is a signature mix of warped transmissions and assembly line beats, a gradual burn and sharp ascent to peak-time techno compiled by a leading light of the Swiss electronic music scene. STAUB is a project that came to life in Berlin around 2013. It aimed to detach itself from the hype and business from techno. The idea was simply to not announce a lineup and treat everyone the same without separating headliners from the rest. This strictly equalitarian but also very familial and friendly concept allowed to give chances to newcomers on a regular basis and to build a tight-knit community.

As time passed it also became an outlet to release music staying true to these ethos. Everyone is paid the same, doesn't matter who you are, it's all about music and respect. 

It has somewhat become customary to have a record ready to celebrate its birthday. As STAUB turns seven, STAUB's fifth installment  (STAUB 5 / IRIS007) will be available at „STAUB - 7 YEAR“ Event at :// about blank.
