Glasgow funksters Shaka Loves You are riding high right now. Their monstrous single 'Boogie' alongside former Jurassic 5 member Fullee Love (aka Soup) has taken on a life of its own with many labelling it their track of the year. If you add to that their no.1 selling 'Disco Funkin'' compilation, they have set themselves quite a tough act to follow musically. However the new single 'Tonight' manages to deliver the goods and shows just how fast they are developing the Shaka Loves You sound. This time the duo have engaged the vocal talents of Amunda, lead singer from the band Bossy Love, who like SLY themselves are firm favourites with funk aficionado Craig Charles. Amunda's infectious vocal glides delightfully with the guitar hooks and heart-warming keys and the resulting track evokes elements of the Brand New Heavies at the their finest, which in our books is no bad thing. As if that wasn't enough, the boys also deliver the aptly titled 'Disco Weapon', which has been tried and tested in the SLY dj sets this summer and is a total dance floor destroying disco stomper.

Glasgow's funkiest, Shaka Loves You kick off the new decade for Bombstrikes in style, with 2 new tracks that will help ease away those January blues. The last 12 months have been an amazing year for SLY, playing many of the UK's finest festivals, a new monthly show on London's Soho Radio and also releasing a number 1 selling compilation; Disco Funkin' Volume 1. Judging by this first music endeavour of 2020, it's not hard to understand why they are unique in what they do and ones to watch out for this year. The two tracks here continue the disco goodness with the title track 'Love is true' delivering an infectious vocal refrain and Shaka's trademark live percussion with funk laden grooves. This is alongside the mighty 'Disco Weapon 2' which does exactly what it says on the tin and after the massive success of the first Disco Weapon, which was supported by the likes of Defected head honcho Simon Dunmore, Ministry of Sound and Glitterbox Radio, has been waited for with some excitement. The first of many releases for the SLY this year and another essential release for Bombstrikes.

London-based DJ and producer, signed to Discover Records 2007-2012 and resident DJ at London's incredible Planet Angel parties for most of the 00s. Co-production credits as Sly One vs Jurrane with a discography of over 30 original tracks and remixes released on labels including Perfecto Records (Paul Oakenfold, world #1 DJ 1998, 1999), Armada Records (Armin van Buuren, world #1 DJ 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012) and many more.  

Alongside an extensive back catalogue of singles, remixes and EPs, Sly One vs Jurrane compiled and mixed two compilations for Discover Records: 'Global Trance UK' and 'Discover - The Next Chapter'. In 2012, Discover issued 'Trance Pioneers - Sly One vs Jurrane', a career retrospective anthology of all 19 Sly One vs Jurrane original tracks and remixes released on the Recoverworld series of labels between 2007 and 2012.  

I'm now retired from music production, but still love DJ'ing great music and posting mixes here on Soundcloud from time to time. You'll find a wide range of dance music genres including house, techno, trance, party funk, nu-disco, progressive house, psybreaks, hip-hop and ambient. Several older Sly One vs Jurrane promotional mixes and other sets will also be uploaded soon.
