The Bowlegged "King of Queens," Jus Daze is preparing to drop his sequel to April's RAPS & RANTS. His latest pack of Supersonic smoke titled "Runtz & Rants" is stuffed with the Highest Grade Audio Exotics, and trust us, you want all this smoke.   

The album opener WokeVID22 hits you with that stench that automatically makes you screw your face and start thinking on another level. Full of the type of gems you can find DAZE dropping daily on his IG page. WokeVID22  is conveniently followed by No Sleep ft. James Jay Eazy, who is also behind the boards, making Runtz & Rants sound as LOUD as it does. (He teased us with the video a week prior to the album release.) Both spitters claim to show no emotion on the hook, but Jimmy Jay slides all over the 1st verse with enough passion to lead an army into battle and JD closes No Sleep with a verse hard enough to wake those snoozing on him the fuck up. Now that you’re fully awake, ride around with Daze on Breaking Bud, a chopped and screwed bop you can drive around town bumping LOUD, you just gotta keep it on repeat cuz it's as short as it is addictive. Daze keeps that same energy on Purp Smoke, a fully packed Raw Cone produced by Bulgarian producer Young Borski, that is just sitting on the ashtray waiting to be lit. This shit will get the mood right in any setting, lacing excellently penned bars with a layed back drill vibe that can get any party bouncing. The party vibe continues on the club friendly YDGAF IDGAF, produced our UK's own 6th Floor which also features “Drill N B” artist Trev Mulah on the hook. This joint is a straight 2 minutes of ratchet ignorance! Or is it? Don't be turned off by the “trappy beat,” Daze always finds a way of taking the subject matter deeper than most, no matter the style.     

The EP closes with Jus pulling up in front of the neighborhood bodega, kicking a classic NY freestyle-type verse over PositivelyDGAF. He spits "Crazy, people think being positive is obnoxiousness/ But I'm not bothered by being the talk of topics/ that's being spoke by other people who lack in confidence/ I don't acknowledge it/ but low key they could swallow it/ they remind me of emojis that look like a pile of shit/". Another joint I recommend you leave on repeat since it is just toooo good to only be 1:09 min long.     

The Runtz & Rants pack is potent enough to lay you out and get you activated all in the same blunt. Daze admits that he wanted to record an ep that heads could just chill, vibe, and puff some good chronic to. He definitely delivers that in air tight Supersonic stamped packaging for your enjoyment.  Jus smoke responsibly.

6- PositivelyDGAF

"Consequentially I found out people ain't who they pretend to be" is the captivating opening line from Jus Daze's latest drop titled "Consequentially" that grabs the listener's attention immediately. In this heartfelt loosie, Daze gets real introspective about experiences with friends, family, and peers, as well as openly discusses his disability over a tight soulful Young Borski production. More often than not, it's easy to overlook and forget about Jus' disability because of his fierce physical presence and confidence on the mic but with a smooth effortless cadence and flow, he reminds us of how others view and judge those who are different by saying "Hard knock life, most my life lived indigent/handicapped, people wanna label me as indolent/but shit ain't sweet cause if it was I got the insulin," Overall, this track is a great addition to your playlist that really makes you stop and think and gives us a lot to look forward to with all of Jus Daze's upcoming projects in 2023!

"Superman's Dead" is the second single off Jus Daze's upcoming album, "Walk Twice As Hard."* (Scheduled for release in 2013.)

"Superman's Dead" is a story of betrayal, heartbreak, lies, trust, and personal strife, where the "World's Strongest Superhero" meets his downfall and demise. "Superman's Dead" is unique, because rather than rap straight-forward to deliver the message, Jus Daze conveys the story's theme  through the use of symbols, metaphors, and imagery which he narrates using a dream sequence.

In "Superman's Dead, " Daze addresses the interests of long-standing listeners, while inviting a new audience to enjoy the diversity and lyricism throughout the song. Both die-hard and brand new fans alike will wonder how much of this "dream" of "Superman" parallels Daze's real life.

Speaking of parallels, the track's musical production is as equally fitting, fusing dramatic guitar riffs with a classic hip-hop break beat over a haunting string ensemble. Each verse ends climatically by going into Rod Stewart's "Broken Dream" to accompany one of the song's themes.

What each listener takes away from this, along with each song from "Walk Twice As Hard," will be different.  But all will have one thing in common: the symbols Daze poetically weaves throughout his art will give his audience a grasp to better understand Jus Daze, while also relating them to their personal trials and tribulations.

By definition, every "hero" has some sort of a downfall, an "Achilles heel" per se, but Daze's message tells us if we 'Walk Twice As Hard,' we'll be able to overcome them and succeed....  Jus Daze is proving he can and is.

If you mistake his humor for softness, you obviously haven’t seen him in the ring battle rapping! His down to earth nature is set aside & in beast-mode, this prolific battler unleashes his hell of a life of struggle through poignant rhymes & heated delivery unparalleled. His intimidating size & presence is a constant reminder of his drive & passion for not only survival, but for living.  

To call Daze a “performer” would be a compliment to the word. He's a fusion of everything intense & raw combined with a rugged charm & fierce coolness. In one line, he can warn you not to mess around with him & in the next, he’ll show you why you can’t.
