It all started one night at the ripe age of thirteen.  At a warehouse in South Dallas during the mid 80’s, Julius began  a journey into the underground dance movement. MDMA was legal and exploding onto the dance scene all over DFW. Word of mouth renegade warehouse parties were found everywhere. Thanks to the generosity of his Uncle Mike loaning Julius an ID, he was able to hang out in Deep Ellum, at the Starck Club and the Lizard Lounge throughout his teenage years. Julius’ introduction to the Hazy Daze Collectif cemented his love for deep house and the true soul that accompanied the music and vibe.
Now Julius was no stranger to the music that makes you move. As a child, his parents’ taste was a tad unconventional for an average White Boy growing up in Texas. Listening to Donna Summer, The Ohio Players, Earth Wind and Fire, The Spinners, Marvin Gaye, Dianna Ross, The Supremes, Four Tops, George Clinton and P Funk, Cool and the Gang, Sister Sledge, Peaches & Herb, The Jackson 5 and the Gap Band, made him no stranger to quality Soul, Funk, R&B and Disco. 
After high school, Julius attended the University of Florida. There he was able to witness the mythical events at Simon’s. Act’s like Rabbit and The Moon, Dj Icey, Spice, Dj Monk, Chris Fortier and many others kept feeding his continued hunger for electronic music.
After college, came Julius’ most significant period residing in the San Francisco Bay area during the iconic 90’s and experience the heyday of the psychedelic underground house movement.  As an avid dancer, participant, promoter and supporter of such events, he had the privilege of attending Community, Wicked Full Moon, Funky Techno Tribe and Uniting Souls parties.  These celebrations permitted Julius to behold the likes of Doc Martin, Dj Harvey, Garth, Jeno, Markie, Thomas, Jon Howard, Mark Farina, Dave Coleman & Sensei, Joeski, Onionz, DJ Dan, DJ Spun, Dano, Gemini, ETI, Freaky Chakra, Mikey the Riddler?, Moses, Adnan, Dj  Romero, Pollywog,  Forest Green and countless others. Notably, Julius felt the love and unity unlike anything he had experienced in the past.  His take was; “it was like everyone knew their role. From the promoter, to the Dj, the drug dealers, the gang bangers, the candy kids, the yuppies and the dancers, we all knew our function as if we had rehearsed with each other for years.  No ego, no machismo, no judgment, no animosity, true unconditional harmony and respect for each other. No matter who you were, where you came from or what you believed. We were all in it together sending blessings to each other and the cosmos through our movement.  A personal utopia, to be absorbed any way you chose. This is what I long for when I mix, to bring us together as one source, one light.”

After a magical night escorting Joeski to a gig at the legendary Bonny Doon Beach, it was he who encouraged Julius to stop spectating and ‘pick up some records and learn to mix Dude!’  From that moment Julius was hooked on the feeling of connection and the euphoric vibe that came from total strangers that he had experienced on the beach early that morning.
Once the 90’s started to wind down, he decided to relocate to Colorado. Little did he know that the true ‘nuts & bolts’ of his quality would be influenced.  Meeting and running with The Tribe at their legendary Strawberry Fields weekly he was able to learn up close and personal from House Masters such as  Jasun Lovejoy, Dj Skunk, Jerome Sellers aka Dj Jeremy,   Mike Day and his close personal friend Edward Johnson aka Eddie Knights.  Not only was The Tribe an inspiration, Julius also was blessed enough to attend the renowned Humble Souls and Mother Earth Sound System parties. Dj’s  Ejay, Ivey, Satori C, The Coffin Brothers and Greg Eversoul once again impacted  him with their mixing skills that attributed to the technique he possesses today.
After his time in Colorado, Julius again had to relocate; this time to New Mexico. While there, he was able to participate with the fabled desert parties The Land of Enchantment is known for. With crews Family Moons, Cosmic Kidz, Get Loose, FNR and artist’s Reverend Mitton, Littleman aka Curtis Dirt, Carlos Zentella aka Lank, Chris Losak,  J-Bledz, Billa,  Professor Jeff, Dave 12,  Justin O’Brian, Jonathan Grossman, Chris Losak, Heather B, John Sheridan,  Mikey Fisher, Raja, Justin George, Shawn Parker, Dj Pali, Hotfoot,  Dj Jacobie, Brad Cole, Donavan, Sandra Ware and Sean Tonning it was easy to absorb these muses that shaped Julius’ style while he refined his skills. Events like Illumenetic, Junebug, Harambe, Foam and parties at the renowned 3 Sided Hole, allowed him to examine this scene he cherished in a different light.  Most notably, Julius met his future ex-wife Dj Blue. With her superior mixing skills and impeccable taste in music she introduced him to labels such as Plastic City, Wiggle, London Housing Benefit,  Rescue Recordings, Tronicsole, Eukatech and Pork Recordings to name a few. The Timewriter, Terry Lee Brown Jr., Housey Doingz (Terry Francis & Nathan Coles), Evil Eddie Richards, Nils Hess, Get Fucked, Gideon Jackson, Dave Mothersole and Harold Heath were the inspiration that Julius formed his sound which pulled him away from the prominent West Coast sound that dominated the scene. After a while in participating in the NM scene;  Julius,  Dj Donavan and their close friend RonRonChow (Chippie), began Bruz N’ Beatz,  a monthly bash held at the old Santa Fe Brewing Company.  In addition to B&B, Smackdown! showcased New Mexico’s very finest Drum & Bass and House Dj’s battling for floor supremacy. Even though the Bruz N’ Beatz series only lasted one summer and Smackdown! ran twice, these gatherings still are a part of  New Mexico underground dance scene lore.
With countless events under his belt, the opportunities to connect with crowds all over the continental United States, Mexico and the Caribbean have been well-regarded.  Julius’ mixing  method can range from techno, to breaks, deep house, tech house, funky, electro,  mid-tempo, down tempo and back to techno. However, the vibe is always deep, sometimes dark, perhaps chilling, but certainly nurturing. This represents something deep and personal to Julius. Besides the gift of his daughter (Justice Ellora), observing the blissful party goers grooving to his form, will be treasured in his heart. Julius’ mantra is; “you can’t go wrong with going deep, stay true to your soul and don’t forget the funk!”
