fka boursin is a DJ and producer out of Bristol, UK. 
Previously known as DJ Boursin, he is recognized for his deep, ambient-infused house music that explores political dimensions of clubs and identity politics.

Welcomed into the Scissor & Thread fold, fka boursin shares two cuts of deep and introspective electronic music. 

The original Listless Intertext is a hazy trip through ambient soundscapes, shuffling rhythms and half-caught conversations, drifting across a 12 minute run time that slowly evolves and shifts with time.  

"Listless Intertext is a track centred around the "failed" employment of cheap vocoder software that attempted to process explicit words and phrases across 11 minutes." says fka boursin. "Instead, the vocoder output made any words indecipherable and I was left with thematic vagueness. The final text of the track is simply a submission to its own limitations with some french thrown in."

When label bosses Frank & Tony step up for their Housebeat Dub, they keep the essential mood but introduce a thick, fat groove that works just as well in conveying the mood. 

"Our remix is a strictly dancefloor approach," says Frank, "an extended psychedelic beat rework perfect for late night, early morning vibes".

Bristol-based producer fka @boursin joins the fold at NYC-based imprint @scissorandthread with a forthcoming 12" single named 'Listless Intertext', accompanied with an exquisite dub flex from label bosses Frank & Tony.

The original is a 12-minute drift through hazy deep house textures, half-caught conversations, dreamy synths and shuffling percussion. Instead of clear vocals, we get indecipherable fragments that lend the track a woozy, dream-state quality - like trying to decipher a distant conversation while slipping out of consciousness. It’s deep and loose, a slow-burner that feels just as suited to headphones as it does a smoky backroom.

Frank & Tony’s Housebeat Dub flips that energy on its head. The duo keep the mood intact but drive it forward with a fat, rolling groove tailor-made for those blurry hours on the dancefloor. Where boursin pulls you inward, Frank & Tony push it outward - a hypnotic, floor-ready workout that still carries the ghostly essence of the original. Together, they make Listless Intertext a release that blurs the line between introspection and propulsion, subtle listening and functional club heat.

“Inner Voice” — the debut work of Just you and the moon, a Japanese-Peruvian artist now based on Ishigaki Island.
The project features composer and sound artisan Chihei Hatakeyama, who contributes modular synthesizer, electric guitar, mixing, and mastering.

In the autumn of 2024, captivated by the breathtaking natural beauty of the Yaeyama Islands and their profound silence and soundscapes, the artist recorded field sounds of the sea of Iriomote, the tropical rainforest, and the call of the crested serpent eagle. Blending these with the colors of urban soundscapes from journeys to beloved metropolises—Tokyo, Bangkok, and Chiang Mai—she layered piano melodies, synth harmonies, and her own voice into the music. Hatakeyama’s expansive sound design resonates with both the wild nature of Iriomote and the inner voices of people living far from home.

Her debut EP “Inner Voice” was self-produced and recorded between a cottage on Iriomote and Ishigaki Island, portraying solitude and longing etched into her body through migration from distant Peru to Yaeyama. The cover photo was taken by Shohei Nasu of Michikusaya, a tour guide based in the untouched western reaches of Iriomote.

On September 8, 2025, under the Total Lunar Eclipse in Ishigaki, Just you and the moon will present this work for the first time in her debut live performance.
