Launched in 2021, X Files unveiled a new Unknown Artist series exploring the realms of house and beyond via slick takes on unconventional records, transporting them to main room dance floors and hazy early morning after parties. Following support from Marco Carola, Jamie Jones, Skream, Michael Bibi, Enzo Siragusa, Dennis Cruz and Archie Hamilton, March sees the first vinyl release on the label with another two-track package for the series’ second anonymous release. Harnessing one of music’s most iconic melodies and vocals alongside murky bass and tough drums on the A-Side, before keeping things funky and punchy on the flip, XFL002 serves up a hot slab of wax set to be a must-have for many.

Wheats invites Kirik as the first guest artist on BOX RED, with the Ukrainian talent delivering two fresh cuts across his ‘CHWTSGD’ EP.
Closing the year in style after a busy twelve months, UK talent Wheats kept things moving nicely on his blossoming BOX RED imprint with the release of highly-requested cuts ‘HEADS ROLL’ and ‘LET’S KICK IT’ for the sixth instalment, with 2023 already talent the project’s scope and profile to new levels following the first ever label event on the South Coast. Welcoming the first guest artist to the label, early May sees Ukranian DJ/producer and multi-label boss Kirik step up and join the label following recent appearances on Vatos Locos, LTF Records, Moan and DENSER, as he delivers two moody yet playful efforts across his ‘CHWTSGD’ EP.
Title cut ‘CHWTSGD’ is a low-end heavy yet funky offering as skippy drums, warping basslines, and re-worked hip-hop vocal samples take hold before the warping ‘CYS’ carries on in similar fashion with rumbling sub-bass accented by emerging lead melodies and further warped vocals.

JUST2 was born in Romania and by the age of 17, he had entered the music production foray. Within one short year, Radu signed material on internationally renowned labels such as Kote Records, K9 Records, Potobolo Records, SK Supreme, Pura Music and many others around the world. His productions were played by superstars such as Marco Carola, Seth Troxler, The Martinez Brothers, Jamie Jones, Luciano, Richie Hawtin, Paco Osuna and Joseph Capriati to name a few.

Radu continued to focus on his production and decided to take the studio on full time, allowing him to improve his craft. In 2011 he started a label with his good friend Luca M, called Get Funky Music. As A&R for his label he managed to sign some of the biggest names in the industry - Tube&Berger, Mario Ochoa, David Herrero, Hollen, Oscar Aguillera and more.
