Open Culture: No Borders is back.

This year, we are collaborating with over forty global creatives to stand against the UK Government’s “Hostile Environment Policy” and the plans set forward in their latest Refugee-Ban bill.

The policy has involved a slew of regressive legislations, intended to create a deliberately challenging environment for migrants to settle. In the process, we are seeing cruel approaches to the treatment of refugees and asylum seekers, the use of provocative language intended to create division and the adaption of laws which offer protection of human rights for all.

The first part of this project, a multi-genre compilation, will be released on Thursday 4th, ahead of Bandcamp Day on Friday. All proceeds go to Safe Passage International, who support unaccompanied young people seeking asylum to reunite safely with their families across Europe, and campaign for more accessible, safer routes to entry. 

Huge thank you to Safe Passage Youth Leaders, Sami and Abdullah and Development Manager, Isabelle for joining us to discuss their work and perspective on the upcoming plans.  

All people have the right to a happy and fulfilling life. At a time when hostile narratives and actions seek to divide us, we believe that empathy, compassion, and connection are essential values to strengthen.

This project is meant to express dance-focused electronic music with brenner’s authentic voice. His truest voice is one that is spoken directly with his “words”. With sets that are 100% original, to very little original work, the common ground is an attempt to zero in on what his voice can say to a group of dancing bodies.
