Harlem emcee Rugz D. Bewler (BWLR) was inspired by popular character, Bené, from the classic indie movie City of God when he put together this 12 track project. With J. Ivy serving as the only guest feature, Bewler called on Golden Child [of Grand Staff], Sal Dali and Sean C & LV amongst others to pitch in with the production.

With a three year hiatus, Harlem's best kept secret finds it fitting to release new music and announce his latest project. With his mellow arrogance, BWLR highlights the duality of our nature by giving us vice and virtue with "Vegan Now and Laterz." Behind the bodega counter is BWLR's music director and producer Sal Dali. The release of this song is only the beginning of what BWLR has in store, expect a new project fully produced by Sal Dali titled "The Beautiful Loser", a lyrical score to the harsh but cool realities of life, and finding beauty in the struggle.

Vegan Now And Laterz

Harlem has endured some major name changes over the years. In 1974 7th Ave in Harlem was named Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard. Eighth Avenue in Harlem was named Frederick Douglass Boulevard in 1977. Lenox was named Malcolm X Boulevard in 1987. And in 2017, Rugz D. Bewler decided to transition to BWLR. Just as sure as Harlem didn’t stop being Harlem when avenues became boulevards, this change doesn’t signal the end. You’ll still be getting the same fly, unique, Harlem perspective you’ve been getting since Bewler’s Day Off and soon. But before we present to you the fruits that have been birthed under this new BWLR moniker, we wanted to compile all of the older work in one place for you to enjoy. So let this serve as:

A thank you for those who’ve been down since beginning.

In the late 80’s the Range Rover established a rugged symbol of wealth for the classy roaming the concrete jungle. In the late 2000’s the Pink Range represented the flamboyance of the Harlem dope boy. This mythological piece of machinery stood for something and the streets that it drove on spoke the trials and tribulations of Harlem. With that, BWLR adds his stories with a personal and sometimes dark side of family going to jail, friends dying and the spoils of gentrification.

BWLR BIO- At the forefront of New York City’s musical resurrection is Harlem rapper BWLR also known as Rugz D.Bewler. The former Roc-A-Fella intern turned prominent emcee emerged on the music scene in 2010 as part of the independent music collective DD172/BluRoc Records, where he penned the popular underground hit "Super Bad." The song's success catapulted BWLR as a talent fans and music insiders alike had to pay close attention to. With a heightened profile from the success of “Super Bad”, BWLR released his first mixtape, Bewler's Day Off. BWLR followed up with the releases of Save Bewler: The Memoirs of Muhammad Mc'Fly, All I Need Is 20: The Lover's Rock Edition, By Any Means Necessary, and Bene. All projects consisting of original music distributed for free download.
 
After releasing Bene, BWLR took a three year hiatus, using this time to perfect his craft and grow personally, while focusing on his role as a father and a man in an ever-changing world. With the release of Beautiful Loser audiences are provided insight into BWLR’s experiences for the past three years, real and imagined. He seamlessly blends his background in film with his musical aptitude to give you a musical score to the storyline that is The Beautiful Loser. 
 
BWLR has accepted the call to be on the frontline for his city, and is in this for the long-hall. He’s no leader but has been called to lead,  He’s no god but has been called to show the divinity within himself and others, He’s no greater but continues to build greatness in his music and through his interactions. With this score, BWLR’s encompasses  “The Beautiful Loser.”
