For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. This show, originally recorded on 2.13.21 was the total opposite of Night Rides & Slow Jams: For Lovers Only Part I. I knew that everyone didn't have the happy feelings that many shared on Valentine's Day. Some were missing someone, some were angry, and some simply came to grips with what it truly was. This episode is dedicated to you! I delivered well over 75 minutes of real emotion! Not only do I love to share the music during live sets, but I love to interview those artists that made that music. Originally launched as an avenue to share 80's based boogie, disco, soul, modern funk, and interviews of the artist and producers behind those tracks. We now 100% focus on interviewing that artist! Our last interview was recorded in February 2019. I decided to put the show on hold not only to take a break but to find a new approach for the show. As we return to what we do, I felt it had to be the right artist for us to make our return! Well, you're definitely in for a treat this episode! 
Tawatha Agee, (lead vocalist with Mtume, songwriter, background vocalist extraordinaire) joins the relaunch of Take It Out On The Groove to discuss her storied music career, what she's working on today, and how she's been maintaining during the pandemic. We touch on everything from her beginnings singing in the church to a project that would be released later this year sending a rig to her home during the pandemic for her to record vocals! Yes, we definitely discuss the Mtume Band, Luther Vandross, Aretha Franklin, and so much more! You'll laugh sing along at times, and hopefully learn something new about one of my favorite vocalists, Ms. Tawatha Agee! Over the years there have been episodes that hit home a little more than others. Don't get me wrong, all of them are equally as special, but some are a bit harder to produce than others. After hearing the news of the passing of a dear friend, I had so many thoughts running through my head and honestly music was the least of them. After I gathered myself I wanted to dedicate something to her that would not only express my love for her, but provide a healing for myself as well. This is my closure. Not as many deep cuts as usual, but all of the love and thought is still here! Every song was something that reminded me of our time together or songs we shared together. So Monica, this is for you!
