Spinning off Kerri Chandler's Madhouse Records last year, Madtech has already carved out its own little cul de sac for fresh-sounding UK house and garage with a string of 15 releases from the likes of Citizen, Az&Tor and No Artificial Colours over the past 18 months.

Serving a platform to launch new artists, the label has shaped its artists as much as it has been by them, with the likes of Celsius, Mia Dora and Walter Ego considered synonymous with the imprint. 

Applebottom is another example. Just one EP on the label was enough to lift him from near-anonymity to one of the UK's hottest new prospects, his name creeping onto bills all over the country in less time than it takes Kerri to drop Armand Van Helden's remix of 'The Bomb' while wearing his shoes on his hands (true story: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sP_vYFNUQU).

This Saturday (19th October), he'll join labelmates Walter Ego, Az&Tor and Golden Boy at London's Lightbox for a night of Mad(tech)ness that's part of a new series of events, so the label threw us a wicked free download to get us all excited.

After a rousing debut release on Fat! Records back in September and whilst prepping the release of their acclaimed Eyesdown EP for Glasgow Underground, Origins Sound have been hard at work curating a remix EP for their signature lead track, SSL Soundtrack.
Calling upon Transmission Audio’s Taneli and newcomer Claus Casper; as well label buddies Forget Me Not and Change State they’ve come up with the goods, once again!

Leading the charge is German newcomer Claus Casper who has spun SSL Soundtrack into a deep and probing groove.
Forget Me Not switch up proceedings with some trademark Bristol bass and mesmerising top lines towards the latter stages, definitely one of their best tracks to date.
Taneli takes things into the 90s with nostalgic piano lines and punchy, subtle bass. One for the after-party, no doubt.
Finally to close out a fine remix EP, we have emerging duo Change State with a dazzling, soulful number.

Last month we had the tenth in our fledging series of free EPs, here’s to another ten!
This time around we have some awesome new producers to showcase, more prime examples of the abundance of underground talent around at the moment in the UK.

We’ve been wanting to get Brummy don Low Steppa on a free EP for quite some time now and when he sent over The Cry last week it was a total no brainer.
We’d also like to introduce you all to Catchment, a new duo who’ve won huge praise recently from Mistajam and Shadow Child. Keep a keen eye on them for 2014!
Maxx Mortimer takes us up past 135bpm with a moody UKG roller, then there’s the gorgeous sounds of South Seven for your ears and Exposure Music’s new signing CutOff!CutOff! rounds off the EP is splendid fashion.

Established in 1997, The Fat! Club encompasses a blog, the much loved Fat! Records, London clubbing legend Chew The Fat!, artist agency TFA Bookings and a management arm.
This historic commitment to UK underground music and culture has seen Chew The Fat! host arenas at festivals across the UK and Europe, monthly parties around the globe and seven consecutive summer residencies at We Love… Sundays, at the world famous Space in Ibiza.

Ultra Knites return with their first release of 2014, the follow up to their debut from late last year which gained the duo much credibility and recognition from some of the scenes leading players.  UKR002 finally sees the release of 'Extacy', a track that has been in demand for over a year having been used as a 'secret weapon' in the duo's own DJ sets.  It has been described as genius, but the formula is simple - a stabby rhodes riff acompanied by an infectious vocal hook while a cleverly filtered pad weaves in and out until eventually, the filters open and the track erupts.
