When we started producing the song we gravitated towards the more progressive sound, flush with big synths but wanted to pair it with a sweeping horn over the drop to give it this really grand almost orchestra feeling that gave it a unique feeling, almost cinematic in nature.... which allowed us to cater to the high energy of house but maintain a unique undertone which we put a lot of importance on with our productions ”

Quickie from us: "HOLY SHIT, FINALLY THIS FUCKING SONG IS OUT... This song was meant to be an Edit to promote a show we had at LIV in december. Initially we had Disclosure's 'Fire Starts to Burn' over the track and thought the drop was way to hot to use someone else's vocal. So we had this ridiculous idea to create a song around the concept of the #SELFIE. We really weren't sure if this was the most brilliant idea, or worst idea we ever had... So we had our home girl Alexis come over and within an hour we had 2 verses and the song done. At that point in time we thought it was hilarious but we were quite sure how it would be received, but seeing as we aren't pussbags and music is about experimenting and having fun, we put it out. 2 days later the song had 200k plays and about 1% negative feedback. So we went to Dim Mak who we always loved as a label and asked them if they were interested in it, if we went back in added a new verse and changed the drops. 6 Weeks later here we are, with an amazing Music Video compiled with all this great submitted #Selfies from Fans, Friends, DJS and Celebs. So we hope you all enjoy the tune as much as we did putting this whole project together. This is our first EVER Original release and it would mean the world to us if you all bought the song, shared the video and took #SELFIE video... ”

Dave1's effortless vocal work that always feel as cool as it sounds, paired with the incredible melodies and instrumentation from Gemayel these guys really crushed. So when we were contacted to remix Jealous we honestly felt like we had a song that we felt could be as big as Daft Punk's, Get Lucky . After it was said and done, we were so happy with the remix we created. It gave the song that house dance feel, but didn't feel forced at all. The song seemed to have this great level of space and pacing and nothing felt unnecessary. The more we produce the more its about doing more with less, and this for us nailed that theory. The song effortlessly flows like good Chromeo songs does but achieves that unique Chainsmoker energy...

Worldwide through Discotexas, ‘Mom and Dad’ is the first single to be taken from Xinobi’s upcoming album ‘1975.’ The Portuguese DJ, producer and musician AKA Bruno Cardoso has previously released tracks on via other notable labels including Ministry of Sound, Work It Baby and Nurvous and made waves with some high profile remixes and re-edits of John Grant, Riva Starr, Toro Y Moi and Nicolas Jaar to name a few. ‘Mom and Dad’ is a laid back, dreamy slice of Morricone-style lusciousness, combining sultry vocals and lilting guitars that drift off into the desert, dazed by the scorching sun. Despite Xinobi’s appetite for devouring various genres, there is a unique watermark and consistency to his output, due not least to his musical and arrangement-based skills.

Upcoming album ‘1975’ is special. It’s packed full of sonically-rich, epic productions that sound big, but not bombastic or over-baked. They take in elements of dub, surf guitar, deep house, disco and acid, all delivered with a pop sensibility and individual flare that sets it apart from other, more generic dance music long players. SO we realllllly we were looking forward to posting this live FULL set, but due to the rain our set was cut in 1/2. It sucked, but it's no ones fault, and EZOO was 100% right in calling it off as that storm was intense as hell. OF course we wish it hadn't happened but what can you do...

However, because of this we struggled with the idea of posting the live set because well it was only half of it, and we really wanted to wait till TomorrowWorld to do it again and with newer music at that point and well have it be a full hour... BUT you all convinced us otherwise, and we figured we all had a wild day that day and this mix is a great way to remember it... wait till the end and youll see why!

We of course had Bobby Shmurda as our guest, and he wasn't able to come out sadly, but hopefully we can do more cool stuff with him in the future. Sucks though cause we had been practicing our Shmoney dance for like 2 weeks!

Regardless, this day was huge for us. Just over a year ago we both borrowed Day passes from a friend, crossed the 103rd street bridge and attended EZOO as locals, we saw Felix Cartel, Morgan Page, Bingo Players, and others, and promised next year we would be playing this festival in our home city. We weren't sure how, we both sorta thought it was a crazy, but we were determined, it didn't matter what stage we would just be there as an artist, in fact we left early to get back to work... Well fast forward a year and we were playing on the mainstage. Now this isn't some cheesy, put your mind to it, you can do it, BS... those are lame...or even some dream come true BS... its just us telling you our story. Take from it what you want. Personally, its the fact that sometimes the craziest fantasies quickly become realities, good or bad and you just never know... This is something we wanted so bad, and we got it, and then it was cancelled... Were we pissed, furious, anyone there can attest to that, but you roll with the punches, and play the hand your dealt the best you can. We had family, friends and you badass motherfuckers there... and even though we only got 30 minutes, it was a day we will never forget and achieved something special for ourselves...

1) We came up with the idea of having Bobby come while drunk on our way to a show in Sacramento and emailed our manager to make it happen, and he did....
2) We took the subway to EZOO and crossed the 103rd bridge
3) Drew screamed Boobies in the middle of the set and fuck her right in the pussy on his mic during the end of danny avila's set
4) We went and had a family pizza after the set, and felt good about life
