wrong but you do it right

I like recreating 80's pop-synth songs and taking them to new places. I'll be honest, I haven't heard this song since I was a kid. Music has always had a tendency to make the hairs on my body raise and eyes water from time to time. I was watching a compilation on youtube today and when this song came, all the right feels came into place. It's artists like these that bring out truth of my musical taste, whether you like it or not ;)

Opened logic yesterday (4/1/23) to the last project I worked on; an attempt at recreating the original title by Random, and boy was it raw...

The complexity of the original is out of this world. I tried sticking to the original, with respect to the original artist, but I did slow it down by roughly 7.5 bpm. 

It still needs work, but I'm just learning how to mix using side chains in Logic Pro X, and I put this together last night aside from the 30 minutes or so I spent on the rough outline.

I'll get there eventually, or not. Life happens. Sometimes I get to make music, and today is one of those days.
