Growing up, I was steeped in the rich sounds of African music—my parents' journeys through the continent and my dad's deep study of its rhythms shaped my world from before I was even born. One song, in particular, has stayed with me for years. Recently, I rediscovered it, and something clicked. The simplicity of its vocals and guitar felt like an open canvas, perfect for a fresh interpretation.
With this edit, I wanted to infuse a dreamy, ethereal, and sensual vibe, letting the essence of the original flow into something new and captivating.

The EP 'Everywhere' by @soblemusic , who used to be a producer of fast Techno and has now turned to the slow and soft sound, is an exploration of movement and flow, both physical and emotional. Composed in the studio using analog gear, the EP has an organic, textured feel. Inspired by moments of being in multiple places at once—mentally and creatively—this collection captures the essence of exploration and freedom. The music isn’t tied to a single sound or mood, but instead, it follows its own journey, reflecting how music can transport you anywhere, anytime.
@francesco_rizzi and @adrianschneider enriches the EP with their more bouncy remixes.

First show of the season featuring an incredible mixtape and Interview with Tolga Buyuk (@tolgabuyuk) from Islandman, as he reflects on his musical path, college dropouts, the perfect stage lights and more, before his trip to India.

Born from the musical dreams of Istanbul based musician/producer Tolga Boyuk, Islandman represents a fiction character, a music persona, a dreamer composing the stories of a non-existing place.

Islandman performs on stage as an electro-acoustic live trio format. Their music can be described as a unique mix of mellow electronic structures & dance beats with spacey live guitars, backed up by shamanic rhythms.

The mixing idea during the record sessions or in live performances is to bring Turkish Psychedelia or an African roots music reef together with a feeling of the electric universe. The power of the band comes from their perfect balance of electronic structures and acoustical harmonies.

An ecstatic dance intended to get people into their animal instincts...following urges and impulses...unlearning socially conditioned suppression of emotions and of the body. There was a slow build, with African rhythms and deep bass, to generate power in the body, and then some fun and lightness...and then we went really deep. The lyrics of "Feel The Rhythm" reminded everyone that we, ourselves, ARE the rhythm and we respond to rhythm just as our ancestors did. We had a magical evening - the biggest Ecstatic Dance Cobourg event ever! I feel so blessed.
