Why do you do this?
I do this because I love it, it's been my forever passion, I love being able to express through my music and my sound as a DJ. I love representing a city that I love.

With over 50 release credits under his belt, Justin Schumacher has cultivated his art since coming up in the 90s NYC battle rap and rave scenes. From humble beginnings working at NYC's prestigious Satellite Records, to playing the Sunday School stage at Electric Zoo, to releasing on Carlo Lio and Pig & Dans labels; Rawthentic/On Edge Society and Elevate, respectively, as well as countless other original and remix work for household labels across the underground spectrum.  The Brooklynite has carved a lane for himself in the global techno community with hard hitting, floor focused, crafty techno cuts.

A DJ first and foremost, his passion and sharp knack for selecting cutting edge grooves and cerebral thumping soundscapes has been recognized and showcased across the continental US in addition to the concrete sprawl where he resides. Justin's ability to read crowds and respond with detailed and nuanced sonic architecture is a true testament to his appreciation for techno, house, and club/rave culture.

of NYC's most promising techno talents. His studio output continues to gain notoriety in the global techno community. Carlo Lio just signed a 3 track EP of his for Rawthentic Music with remix duties going to Proudly People. Additional releases and remixes can be found on labels such as Unknown Territory, Ohn-Cet, Italo Business, From 0-1, Vector Functions, Monocline Records, Dystopian Rhythm, Illegal Alien, De-Konstrukt and many many more with over 50 releases to his credit. His tunes have been featured on podcasts and live recordings from Chris Liebing, Dave Clarke, Truncate, Slam, Georgio Gigli, Ben Klock, Pfirter, just to name a few. Justin Schumacher’s writing style remains thought-provoking and intelligent, employing complex fills and slick programming with exceptional sonic construction while still remaining floor- focused and energetic. He applies this same passion and attention to detail in his dj sets which can span many different moods, grooves, and genres depending on the dancefloor he is working. His love for the music clearly shows when he performs, creating an instant connection with the crowd on the most primal and perennial level.
