"Following on from co-­compiling one of 2012’s best received compilations ‘Into The Light: A Journey into Greek Electronic Music’, new Amsterdam based record label ‘Music From Memory’ sets sail with a compilation of lo-­‐fi beach funk and lazy synth jams from the Rhode Island keyboardist and ocean loving Leon Lowman.

As well as a devoted painter and surfer of the East Coast, the synthesizer loving Lowman privately released two albums “Syntheseas” (1980) and it’s follow up cassette only “Sound Horizon” (1982). Something of a homage to his love of the local seashore and the women he was trying to woo there, the albums also express Leon's pure love of the synthesizer sound and reflect his unique melodic wanderings.

With Leon's albums meeting little commercial success at the time of there release, both albums have in recent years become highly sought after. Along with previously unreleased material from the time, “Liquid Diamonds‘ highlights Leon Lowman's unique blend of low fi synth funk and surf ambience."

Koo Koo is the first offering from GABI (neé Gabrielle Herbst) on Software.

Gabrielle's formal training began at an early age, studying Balinese dance and gamelan in Indonesia while learning both the clarinet and piano. Herbst continued her training at Bard College where she studied voice and composition under the tutelage of Joan Tower, Zeena Parkins and Marina Rosenfeld. Her work has already been showcased at Robert Wilson’s Watermill Center, as well as Roulette, who earlier in 2014 commissioned and premiered her first opera Bodiless.

Herbst’s experience writing for chamber orchestra and mixed instrumentation inspired her to develop a repertoire of short-form, vocal-centric compositions under the name GABI. These were driven by solitary explorations in early 2013 with a dual-track loop pedal.

“Koo Koo” marks GABI’s studio immersion to further develop these vocal compositions. She is joined by her band Matthew O’Koren (percussion), Rick Quantz (viola), Josh Henderson (violin), and Aaron Roche (electric guitar / trombone). The song is framed by a hypnotic refrain of the words “I wait for you" embedded in a latticework of arpeggios and melodies con moto.

Koo Koo is announced on September 24, 2014 via Software.

Producers Airbird & Napolian return with single "J.Park" and details about their forthcoming debut album, Mr. Foolish - a body of work inspired by west coast dreams and east coast nightmares. On Mr. Foolish, worlds meld to create a deeply engaging blend of American House, Cosmic Funk and Hip Hop. The producers' disparate environments are uniquely present in the material: New York sensibilities cut through in Joel's melodic bass lines, astral vocals and idiosyncratic song construction, while Ian, born and bred in LA, delivers consistently cool and heavy beatscapes, surrounded by psychedelic ambience and hard focus.

Airbird & Napolian is comprised of producers Joel Ford and Ian Evans, each established artists in their own right, who have combined forces for a record on Cascine. The producers met while working on Napolian's Rejoice EP (Software) and an easy chemistry took shape. 2013 single "In The Zone" was the first official product of their collaboration, which launched to an intensely positive reception by listeners and journalists worldwide. From there, Cascine commissioned an album, and two years later Mr. Foolish was born.
